well my visit to the endo was a waste of time.showed him swales recipe for success and he skimmed it over and was unimpressed said alot of it didnt apply to hrt, (oh boy).said a fellow named dr peter schneider was the guru on hrt therapy.seems he thinks a person at my age 41 should not be having low test problems(.i fall into the very low normal range ).he mentions that all the test that are done are not accurate,to be truly accurate u would have to use the universities equipement, however that is not practicle.hcg was totally out of the question says just keep using the test enthanate at 200mg every 2 weeks as usual.he suggest getting off the therapy all togeather and that it would take 6 months or more to get back to normal and then redue all the testing again seems this endo mentions that total t is the most important not bio- available t.so all in all a wasted trip couldnt even get a word in.he does admit that he is conservative in this area because he quotes there are not long term studies to show the negative side to this therapy, last thing he needs is a buch of guys coming back to him in 10yrs with prostate cancer.he also mentions on womens menapause and how prescribing estogen to women back then was thought as a good idea nowdays its concidered a big mistake.so there u have it another close minded endo.gees i need a beer cheers.

I would feel for you something awfull if he took you off the test and didn't give you hcg to restart you system. I dont know of anything worse he could do to you!

That's very discouraging. I'm glad your wise enough to know that just because this doctor spent $200K+ on a medical degree, it doesn't mean he has a clue when it comes to cutting edge TRT.

Keep searching for a doctor that will listen to you and work with you for optimal TRT. In order to save time and money, try asking specifics about their TRT protocols prior to setting appointments. There is a related thread in this forum on this.

200mg every two weeks causes too much fluctuation in T levels. Common sense would say that 100mg every week would be better. I can't believe doctors still prescribe once or twice a month therapy.

Ok, one more comment because this shit really irritates me...

You would think that women's HRT would be a little more "cutting edge" since it's been widely accepted and practiced in the U.S.

Most progressive (knowledgeable and informed) doctors will tell you that it's not the HRT that is bad but the drugs used for this purpose. Conjugated equine horse estrogens and medroxyprogesterone acetate?

If the medical community aggressively promoted the continuous use of Equipoise and Dianabol for standard male TRT for two decades and men had a higher incidence of various health problems - would you be surprised?

These would be terrible drugs for non-stop male TRT. But it would be a self-fulfilling prophecy for these ignorant doctors - I can just hear them saying, 'see, i told male TRT was a bad idea!'

But don't condemn HRT because medicine doesn't know how to do and the profits of pharmaceutical companies are the primary determinant of how mainstream medicine is practiced.

Sad to hear it bro! Don't give up though!

Out of curiosity, do you self-inject or do you have to go to the doc to get the injections? If you self-inject then just go ahead and switch to 100mg/week. If you don't you could always try convincing your doc to let you do it yourself. Cite reasons such as inconvenience to travel to doc office, what if you travel, cost etc etc. Worth a shot.

Amazing. This guy is wrong about every single point he made. Scares me that he is actually in practice.

It just confirms what I have gone through in my 21 yrs. of having low T. The Endo's just don't know how to test or treat Low T. At least I have never found one in the 6 that I have seen over the years. And I would see one and bring all my tests and they insist you I go off TRT anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months so they could retest me. The only thing this showed them is how sick they made me. Hell my wife is seeing one that I had went to for her thyroid. Some time ago they used Iodine to kill her thyroid she has never felt good since she tells the Endo and he tells her to go on a diet and lose weight that her tests are in range. I finely got her to see my Dr. that treats my Low T. and he switched her med. and how she feels better. I just don't have much luck with Endo's.

I agree with the above - you can't compare women's HRT with mens because they are not using natural, human hormones, whereas the test I inject is the real thing! No comparison.

That guy's scary. Haven't doctors heard yet that there's a correlation between low T and prostate cancer, and between high E and prostate cancer, not high T and prostate cancer?

That's what I hate about many docs. They think they're God and really don't want to deal with an educated patient. But you know what? This is MY body and MY health, and ultimately I'm in charge of my own health.
