Estrogen >5 for 5+ months and doesn't seem to recover

Hello all,

I am posting this for my lady who is completely unfamiliar with forums, and having some serious estrogen/test problems that I cannot quite figure out. I'm having a hard time finding information on the matter to help her out. Here are her stats; 29, 5' 5", 140 lbs, 14.5% bf, 1700 cals/day, 20mg test/week, and just started back on anavar 6 days ago @20mg/day. Right now she's been experiencing mood swings, irritability, fatigue, and experienced hot flashes in the past. The main problem that she explained to me is that her estrogen has consistently tested at >5 for the past 5 months. Here is what shes taken thus far;

Her coach had her on Anavar for 8 months @10mg/day from January to August 2015 for two shows; one in July, and one in August, and discontinued after the last show. Arimidex was taken @1mg/day for the entire month of June and August only. At this point she was not experiencing any negative symptoms.

As soon as she got off the Anavar, she felt extremely fatigued, sleepless, and had night sweats. She started seeing a PA that is familiar with gear at this point. He did a blood test on her and her test came back as 4 (at this point, her estro was normal). She started on TRT (10mg/week) from October - February 2016, and got off from February - May to see if her test would return to normal.

She got retested in May and her test came back as 8, and Estradiol was >5 (this is when she started having estrogen problems). So he put her back on 10mg/week, and increased to 20mg/week after a month. 2-3 weeks after starting the test back up, she experienced hot flashes, and had an extremely hard time losing weight. She also took tamoxifen for the entire month of May @10/mg twice daily. She was tested last week and her test came back as 180 and Estradiol is still >5mg. From May-June 2016 she was also taking anavar @20mg/day for a show.

Obviously I am a gear user myself and still have much to learn, but seeing her estrogen consistently come back at >5, and her test not recovering doesn't seem right to me. I would never condone being on Anavar for 8 months either, but a very famous coach here told her to do this. The PA told her 'not to worry about estrogen because it will go up & down due to menstrual cycles', but the problem with that is shes not getting tested the same time every month, and I would think estrogen wouldn't be non-existent like this.... is it possible she went through early menopause or something? Here are the reference ranges for an adult female;

Testosterone 8-48mg/dL

Estradiol -
follicular phase 12.5 - 166
ovulation phase 85.8 - 498
luteal phase 43.8 - 211
postmenopausal - <6 - 54.7

Any help would be appreciated.

What are lh and fsh doing?

Maybe she could benifit from some estradiol in small doses as she gets her natty production back on line

In a post menapause woman lh and fsh will be very high, the hpta trying to make estrogen but the ovaries do not comply.

From what I can see, and I'm no expert but if she was on gear (or any other hormone altering substance) pretty much consistently for well over a year including the 8 month var run. Her recovery will be that much longer! Incorporating Arimidex and Nolvadex in a female can be very risky. And a price she needs to pay now. Both Arimidex and Nolva are very easy to mess a female up and her natural estrogen levels will be shot for a long time then most likely have a rebound happen. Did she at least taper down? Which seems like she hasn't reached that point yet. Have her periods come back yet? Being on test isn't helping either with her recovery and body bouncing back to normal. If anything, it should be giving her the energy and overall feeling of well being if the numbers were going in the right direction. Sounds like she's just taking drugs to mask the underlying problem. I personally would be off everything for the same duration I was on to allow the body to recover, maybe even longer. Even consider going on birth control to help with her adjustment of hormonal balance. So talk with the doc some more. BUT if she is competing and planning to keep going then she has some choices to make. What level is she in? And her coach doing 8 months of var and adding other compounds, was very careless but sounds like she doesn't want to turn back and just wants to keep going which I hope he explained all the risks to her prior to doing that.

Don't get me wrong, I am the Queen for running long unconventional cycles but I also plan it so I can have the best recovery and be ready for the next one as quickly as possible.

Thank you very much for the responses! She had a break after the 8 month long cycle from anavar, but started the test 2-3 months after so I guess she didn't really give herself a break. She did not taper off of the anavar at all. Her periods have been on and off but inconsistent, and gone between them months at a time. She's been on birth control for about 5 months now and still has consistently tested for less than 5 estrogen. I'm not quite sure what she's thinking as she wants kids, but also doesn't want to come off gear. But basically from what you're telling me, her best option is to come off completely if she wants to fully recover?

Sorry I missed your reply... but yes... basically if she wants to fully recover then she will need to give her body time. So she has some big choices to make.
