Fasting cardio

Got a friend who's trying to get ready for a comp. His body % is too high so he's trying fasting cardio in the morning. Not sure I fulling understand the fuel break down of this. I was assuming you'd be busting up your protein cells first as you breaking down fat. I thought the idea was to eat a little something so you'll be burning the carbs and then fat rather than protein cells and fat cells.

I have been doing fasted cardio in the morning for many years. It works for me and many others. Key is to keep the heart rate at about 130bpm

How long is one sleeping before fasted cardio? Some sleep 5-6 hours and may take a nap later in the day, others sleep over 8 hours.

How long before bedtime does the subject eat, specifically protein?

If one has protein shortly before bed, doesn't sleep as long hours and starts cardio soon after waking up (as opposed to lying in bed, watching the news, long drive to the gym, etc) their results and implications of fasted cardio might be much different than otherwise.

That's why I'm bewildered that the countless fasted vs fed cardio debates never touch on these factors, at least not the ones I've read. It's usually a bunch of young skinny guys quoting some study to say that fasted cardio has no benefits and is harmful, the studies which don't control sleep hours, bedtime meal timing etc.

Also there's not a specific heart rate that applies because your heart rate slowly decreases as you age, a certain heart rate for a 20 year old implies lower intensity than the same heart rate for a 40 year old.

While I'm too damn lazy to wake up early and do cardio I have had the best luck cutting fat with fasted cardio. I lost 80 lbs in 11 months doing fasted cardio and doing my weight training before breakfast while working in Afghanistan eating whatever the dfac cooked that day. Everyone's different but it has always worked well for me.

Mct oil 2 spoons every morning then workout , this can help spare muscle , this oil turns quickly to ketone's which the body quickly uses as fuel very good for the stomach and can help the body burn up stored fat as fuel , with ketones as fuel insulin is held at bay, works well with carb cycling , low carb and keto

I disagree with fasted cardio because of two main concerns...

1.fasted
And...
2.cardio :D:D

Seriously though i dont know how people do it, i cant function untill I've eaten.

I can do the cardio, but if I don't eat very soon after waking up I get a massive headache and fatigue that won't go away until I go to sleep and wake up again.

Oh same here with the headaches, i get fucking miserable. Headache, stomache ache, unable to perform the most pedestrian of tasks. It's a nightmare.

I had to fast for bloods and then went to work after. It was 3-4 hours after I woke up by the time I got to eat and never again is all I'll say. Next time I get fasted bloods in the AM I'm eating immediately after.
