Favorite Book Series

I know I can't be the only person on here who enjoys a good book to unwind after the day. So let's hear em!

My personal favorites are: Mistborn, Stormlight Archives (pretty much anything Sanderson), WoT, and Sword of Truth.

I should also add I am looking for potential new series through this post, so recommendations based off the above would be appreciated as well!

I can't wait for the third Stormlight Archive book to come out. I'll be pre-ordering it from Amazon for sure.

I'd recommend The Dark Tower series, The Fourth Realm Trilogy and The Dresden Files. I read one trilogy by Raymond Feist that was good, but I forget which one.

I will be doing the same for sure. I'm just thankful Sanderson is such a machine and (hopefully) not going to pull a GRRM on us.

I keep hearing about Dresden and Dark Tower. Guess that's a sign to start one once I finish up WoT.

Yeah, I'm waiting for book six from GRRM and wondering how it'll differ from the series now that it's ahead. My girlfriend and I just finished season six last night actually.

I liked WoT a lot. Obviously by my avi and username. I love Dark Tower, read the whole series three times now. Excited about and also dreading the certain butchering of the story in the movie that's coming soon.

I actually have held off on ASOIAF until GoT ends. Have only read up to book 3. But that season 6 was amazing.

WoT is great, I assumed u were a huge fan. I'm midway through book nine. The last few have been slow, but I heard it picks up again. I really don't like alot of the female characters storylines.

And if there is a movie coming out then I'll probably choose that series first for the reasons you just posted

Season six was nuts. I posted about it here right after we finished it last night and she just posted on Facebook about it. The last two episodes were some of the most intense and dramatic I've seen.

WoT definitely gets better as the books go on. It's been awhile since I've read them and don't recall exactly what's going on where you are. From like 12 on it's great though. It's probably blasphemy, but I like Sanderson's writing style better than Jordan's in the last couple books where he took over.

Sanderson is my favorite author I love his style and world building. I've been looking forward to his work on this series since I started 6 months ago

There's a young adult author Darren Shan.
He has a series called the demonata that is badass!
He writes in first person about people's experiences with demons and their realms. By far my favorite series of books.

Edit: He's the same guy that wrote Cirque de Freak before the whole vampire craze, it ended up being a train wreck of a movie.

He's definitely unique in his style. I like how the world in Stormlight Archive is kind of like the bottom of the ocean. The kind of magic he comes up with is unique, too.

And season 7 is going to be even bigger. Im so excited for the battles and wat I think is coming!

I'm wondering how things are going to play out, too. I have some predictions about things.

Yea man the shattered plains are crazy and his magic systems are mind blowing throughout his cosmere. I think the fact that the land is so insane is what will hinder Storm light from ever being a TV series. It'd cost too much to get it correct

It would be amazing if done right. Would take a ton of CGI, I suppose. I'm not sure it's popular enough that they'd try to make something high budget out of it. Low budget would be a disaster.

I worry about them pulling off the Dark Tower because of the scope of it. Although it takes place in a world that pretty much is our own.

I read a series by a guy named brian lumley. A killer vampire trilogy by the way. The last aeries or something similar was the title.

I actually saw a big production company bought the rights to all of his works on reddit. So there is a very good chance it actually does happen eventually. I think it needs another decade or so to let the series develop more, but then will happen. I think Mistborn will happen first

I've been meaning to read Mistborn. I almost bought the trilogy last time I was at Barnes and Noble.
