FDA dramatic reversal on Hormone Replacement Therepy. TRT next?

Estrogen supports soft tissues and mucous membranes. The lack of estrogen causes pain during sex, more frequent UTIs and cognitive problems.

Topical estrogen is a very safe way to restore vaginal function and reduce UTIs during perimenopause and is low risk due to less systemic estrogen.
Tldr this shit is complicated. I'm glad they have removed the warnings.
Yep - first line of attack is vaginal estrogen cream. Get some at telyrx, use it as directed, smear that shit on ALL the holes down there, prosper.

Just don’t let your man go fishing for a little while, last thing HE needs is topical estrogen cream on HIS equipmunk.

I sent the article to my wife and she said she's not menopausal yet so it's not even worth considering and probably I shouldn't bring it up again. She's 38 and had her tubes tied earlier this year so I feel this is the right time to at least start monitoring hormone levels even if it's not time to change them yet.

Any advice from the ladies on ways for men to present this to our partners? I know that's a tricky question.

Don't. Just be ready to support her when she brings it up, and make sure she thinks it's 100% her idea - same as with anything else when dealing with us women ;)

I have a buddy who is clearly low t- sluggish, tired, over weight, moody, near zero interest sex (wife complains constantly). She nags him about low t constantly. Guess what? He has dug his heels in and refuses to consider it. The same will happen with your wife.

I'm not a lady but here goes.

You've got it, labs! If she's willing to do them, go do them together. Don't focus on the HRT aspect, just get them and go over them with her. Explain her lipid numbers, a1c etc. Talk openly about anything that appears low or eventually in the case of HRT, medical dogma.

It's her call ultimately but at least you'll have a pretty comprehensive view of her markers, can see as things change over time, and open up conversations.

I'm happy they removed the black box warnings as its a step in the right direction but insurance still doesn't pay for many different types of hormone replacement besides patches and oral progesterone. Its easier for men to get testosterone.

In my case I wouldn’t stop reminding my wife because she was the one that suggested I get checked in the first place. It took a year and she finally got on some compounded troche. Slowly making a difference.

Seems to be shifting in the right direction as they are now looking to loosen restrictions for men.

After decades of demonizing hormone replacement therapy for women, the FDA will actively promote its widespread use to improve the quality of life for millions of women.

The US Food and Drug Administration intends to remove most black box warnings from products containing estrogen and progestogen. The decision, announced Monday, is part of a campaign to promote wider use of hormone replacement therapies (HRT) for women.

FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, MD, and other agency officials outlined the plans for the label changes in a November 10 article in JAMA and discussed the move at a press conference Monday at the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC.

Makary said menopause can trigger profound changes in women’s lives, including “mood swings, night sweats, weight gain, hot flashes, divorce.”

He told attendees, “HRT has saved marriages, rescued women from depression, prevented children from going without a mother.”

Let’s hope TRT sees the same recognition by the FDA of its ability to improve men’s quality of life, gets them to advise doctors to treat based on symptoms and not withhold it based on the absurdly low “normal” Test level guideline most follow now.
Amazing it has taken this long to figure it out.
