Not A Good Idea To Use Fedex!!!

do they require ID to send a package?

is it a safe way to send gear?

If I were you I wouldn't use fedex! They scan there packs and you run a great risk getting it snaged. I am having problems with them as we speak, I will never use Fedex again! USPS is the the way to go.

Fed Ex is fast, and they don't f'up as much as USPS with packs but USPS is safer...Fed Ex WILL open your packs, a buddy of mine had a pack opened just because FED EX said it felt too light!

I myself have used Fed Ex many times receiving gear....the key is to make sure the gear is packed tight and leak free....next, you need to make sure it is sent priority overnight...that way it will get to you the very first thing in the morning, not afternoon...anytime a pack is sent priority...Fed Ex has less time to scrutinize it...another thing is...you can constantly track the package the whole trip....if it sits somewhere for more than an hour to hour & a half, then you need to beware....another tip if you use Fed Ex, have the signature waived...once you receive the pack, write on the front of it "return to sender" and do not open it for a day or two....if no one shows up at your doorstep, you are safe to go....with Fed Ex, they have so many packages that have to be hurried through the system, they dont have time to scrutinize them unless something is not packed properly....the only place I would not accept a fed ex from would be from one of the border cities along the Mexican-American border...if the USPS wants to open a package, trust me they'll open that sucker in a heartbeat...you are misinformed if you think they have to get a warrant to open it...think about it, all they have to say is something was leaking or it looked suspicious. I think they are equal risk. One more thing....dont use your real name when having it sent to you....as long as you have the signature waived, you can use any name you wish.

No, you do not need an ID to send....also, use a fake name and a fake return addy...you will be safe....the person receiving the gear is at more risk than you.

re

The whole return to sender thing is just a myth and doesnt work. Ask some vets if you dont believe me.

I don't know about that fake return addy cuz sometimes they check to see if it's valid trust me on this one, just get one with a vacant home or apartment.

I have sent and recieved many packs through FedEX just send it next day or two day. USPS is safer from what I have read and heard but never had any probs with either. The guy probably is a newb and doesnt know what he is talking about.

I had someone send me GH via fedex to arrive on 12/23/2003. DUH! The package didn't make it on 12/23 because of some fedex bullshit. If I didn't get it on 12/24 it would have sat until January, because I was going away. So I got very *insistent* with Fedex about the need to get that package to me on the 24th.

One of the people I spoke to wanted to know what was so important about the package. I said "it's perishable." She demanded to know what was in it. I paused, and said the first thing that came to my mind. "Tiramisu." "Tiramisu?" "Yeah, it's a gift for my mother."

Funny thing is, she seemed to believe me.

I find your comments about USPS vs. Fedex interesting. I'll definitely keep that in mind. The thing is, it defies common sense that Fedex is going to open packages. They're all about volume and efficiency. What would motivate them to open one package, as opposed to another?

Dont use Fedex or UPS they can open any pack they want for any reason. I have been visited by the police before after they opened my UPS pack. Its not a plesant experience and I dont recommend every sending or receiving a pack from either of them.

Return to sender is bullshit. If you get busted just taking the pack is enough. Especially if they find gear in your home. The police are not stupid. Read legal gear to get some education before ordering.
