Feet up bench

I see people put their legs on the bench or even in the air all the time. I dont do it because its not good for stability, unsafe with heavy weight and puts you at a mechanical disadvantage, overall bad form in my opinion. You will he able to lift alot more with feet planted on the floor. To me bench is a compound workout and I treat it like one, if I want to isolate chest theres a ton or workouts to do that.
Oz, definitely agree with the heavy weight. But busting out 20 or so reps of 135 to warm up my chest, and get my form in check, really helps me a lot. I'm a notorious shoulder cheater on the bench. So, any advantage I can get to isolate the chest, I'll take. I wouldn't have my feet up for 225+

Having your feet up and off the bench is going to negate any leg drive you could of otherwise had, given your lower body is tight enough and your actually getting leg drive to start with. So it will limit the poundage you can hoist. If you had to keep in the legs up pressing I would just do them with Dumbbells afterwards myself.

I hear that a lot about the shoulders
Maybe its cause im a skinny guy and dont have huge weight totals with my lifts,
but i dont really understand that on a flat bench lift
weather its DB's or bar, if its a flat bench I dont notice any significant activation in my shoulders
Why is that?
Can you describe shoulder cheater in greater detail?
Maybe my shoulders are in way better shape than chest so I dont notice?
