Feminist neuroendocrinology and glaciology

Get ready boyz. From the makers of Feminist Glaciology (not really but just as wacko): get ready for Feminist Neuroendocrinology. Here's a totaly normal interview with a regular human person, Dr. Sari van Anders is an Assistant Professor of Psychology & Women’s Studies and affiliate faculty member of the Program in Neuroscience; the Reproductive Science Program; and the Science, Technology, and Science Studies Program at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. She is also the incoming editor of the Annual Review of Sex Research. Dr. van Anders earned her PhD in Biological and Cognitive Psychology at Simon Fraser University. In her social neuroendocrinology lab, she conducts feminist-informed research on the social contexts of hormones and intimacy.

Bet this chick is super fun. In her paper on The importance of feminist science for social neuroendocrinology. She examines great works such as Testosterone rapidly increases men’s emotion-based dehumanization of a conservatively dressed woman. And claims that "Their commitment to doing science that is just is a key aspect of feminist science.". I bet the lab mice will love this "Just Science". Especially the lady mice.

Some of the things she discusses in This interview are how to slowly indoctrinate regular scientists into feminist ideology by slowly and incrementally using well chosen non triggering feminist language. Up until the point where they don’t even realize they are now studying gender non conforming glaciers.

What a brainwashed post. Maybe stay on the conspiracy sites. And find some balls, man. Quit blaming women for your station in life

Bud, I have an excellent “station in life”. I have a beautiful smart and educated wife and a daughter. I adore women. I also have more higher education in my pinky than most. What conspiracies am I pushing buddy? I didn’t write those papers. The truth is feminist and gender ideology has been forcibly pushed into everything in academia, I find it silly. I spent a long time there in a research lab as a grad student. I’d you like to have a debate rather than call me names and run off like a child I’m game.

Not everywhere in academia. I used to be in an Engineering lab and every male was amped up when a female entered the building. Like sharks and blood every single dude new it asap.
Boss was mesogynistic as can be and didn’t even look at female applications. Horrible personality and environment. My social skills detoriated a lot during that time.
So n=1 for the other side of the spectrum isn‘t good either. Been around orher labs in different countries and all of then where far better in every aspect. So extrapolating from one woman/ group to all of academia is not really applicable here. My 2 cents.

Oh I definitely understand. I worked in a Physics lab studying the spin polarization and torque current on TMR substrates. There was one girl in our lab. She was hounded by the dorks in our lab. As for your boss not taking women seriously, that kind of sexism should not be tolerated.

The silliness I’m alluding to is in halting studies so that every possible race, gender and sexuality has an infinite continuum of checkboxes in order to ensure nobody is offended. It’s this assumption that nobody should ever be offended that in itself is offensive. It’s offensive to philosophy itself. We must risk being offended in order to think and communicate. Learning how to be offended and handle it gracefully is incredibly powerful and many have forgotten this. And sometimes we get offended and shouldn’t have. For example: I design a software solution in order to fix an ORM function that can easily be misused and create n+1 queries. I present it and it gets denied for another engineers solution. My initial internal reaction is I’m offended. That’s okay. It’s okay to feel that feeling. But should I be offended?? Nope, I should be proud of the other engineer for outdoing me. So as a human who’s felt and coped with offense many times I can easily navigate to the pride for my colleague. I notice more and more young engineers feeling entitled that their work is the only work and the right work and have no clue how to navigate their emotions around it.

I would wholeheartedly agree that especially academia pushed the pendulum too far and too woke in general. It was just too much in too many faces for what appeared to be too little in real gains for that community. It’s one thing to be lynched. It’s another to have your pronoun misused. Most people were all for stopping lynching

This thread unfortunately coincided with a recent rash of misogynistic posts

Wonderful sounds like we are in agreement then. Yeah I didn’t read the other posts in this area before I wrote this. I stumbled upon this accidentally while searching for endocrinological studies on women. When I found this I then dig into the author and found it to be almost satirical so I posted it here. I think we should all laugh more. At ourelves and everything around us. We all take ourselves too dang seriously.
