Filtering finished oils

I see a lot of great posting lately on filtering finished oils. Decided to make a thread to hopefully consolidate all the great info in one spot.

My knowledge is somewhat amateur on this topic, but what I know so far is that for the average user buying 10ml UGL finished oils a PTFE 0.22 13mm Is likely the best choice.

If you have good info on filter types, brands, techniques, etc. I want to know!

Thus brand has worked well for me.. I would also opt for the 25mm. The 13mm are only rated for up to 10ml. Even though you may only be filtering 10ml at a time you are taking the fikter to its full potential for that. 24mm are not much more money and plenty of filter... being a little bit bigger it's not gonna hold that much oil.. you can always push air through it to clear out all the oil but i personally don't like to do that.. Thanks for clarifying the sizing. Think I'll pick a pack of these up.

I just purchased a different brand "cobetter " but they come from China. For the average person refiltering gear those are gtg, quick from Amazon.. id get some 20ml syringes and 20ml KS-TEK vials from Amazon as well.. those vials are kinda on the cheaper side but I've use plenty of them back when I refiltered gear.. If a person wanted better vials they can order ultraspec or alk from Medlabsupply.com.. while there woild be a good time to get Nipro needles and some Excel 3ml barrels..

I like the ultraspec from med lab. I get my pins there as well.

I get my filters from Tisch Scientific. They even have 0.1um PTFE filters for reasonable price, which I may try in future to compare effects on PIP - 0.22 is enough for bacteria, but 0.1 may collect more aggregates. I suspect that with such small pores I'll need to use a caulk gun with larger syringes.

I will admit I have purchased 25mm 0.22um filters, 20ml syringes and 10ml KS-TEK vials from Amazon as well. However, I have not used them.

After reading William Llewellyn's Anabolics 11th Edition, I just put my vials in the oven @ 80C/175F for 2 hours before using. This theoretically should kill most bacteria.

Does this not affect the robber stopper?

If you have to run your UGL oil placed in an injection vial through a 0.2 um filter then it ain't a finished oil.

Yeah I understand the insurance of filtering anyway. Just sayin'.

Hold vendors accountable when they put an oil in an injection vial.

Without knowing any injectable routinely passes this test, they should all be filtered:

Why the fuck ya all ain't homebrewing yet? Mixing oil, powder and solvents is just one more step.

Because in order to do that, that would involve 5 more steps such as buying raw powder , bb, ba, carrier oil, vials, hot plates, filters, whatever else may be needed for the simple homebrew.

When taken all of that into consideration I think that is where people back out.

On paper it seems easy and the most logical for reducing harm as one can control every step themselves.

But in reality, it is not actually that easy for the basic trt or basic cycle person to do.

Then comes the part where if they do all of that, are they going to do the most important part and send it for testing to see what their first homebrew mg came out as ? Most likely not.

So buying finished oils (or semifinished oils from qsc where they just need to filter it) with whatever testing the vendor sent in will probably always be the most popular.

Credit to @readalot for applying the term "semi-finished oils" where it belongs.

Until proven otherwise, *all* UGL oils should be treated as "semi-finished".

I meant since everyone is filtering gear they bought as finished oil. And actually you only need to add solvents and oil with some kind of glass to mix shit. You already buying filters, syringes, vials. Plus 100gr of test c is less weight than a kit of oils and can last 2 decades for TRT and cycles
