Are there actually UGLs faking glass ampules? That seems like a lot of work vs just dumping some mannitol in a vial.

I reckon most on IndiaMart are fakes..but what do i know.

It seems the fake boxes and pens available are replicas of more modern rHGH products. There's huge demand in Asia by parents for this stuff to boost their children's height. Serostim is pretty ancient by comparison so the counterfeiters don't try to replicate it. For those who don't know, there's a cottage industry of clinics who get it prescribed to HIV patients on Medicaid. They don't use it and sell it off, and then it's resold in the underground. Been going on for decades. Every once in a while some place will push it too far, and a doctor will get busted not for illegal diversion of rHGH, but for ripping off the feds for millions of dollars.
Pretty sure that's the only way Serano even stays in business with the product unchanged for 30 years while everyone else is selling prefilled variable dose pens and now long acting formulas. (but it's still just as effective, and produced to tight pharma standards, just less convenient to use then a pen).
One obvious difference from UGL.
The vials have no vacuum, while UGL does (or is supposed to).
Rather than use vacuum, a natural byproduct of the lyophilization process (freeze drying), to protect the rHGH from oxygen exposure (vacuum is imperfect and can be easily lost in transport via leaks), After lyophilization, the chamber with the vials is filled with an inert gas like argon.
Now the vial has no vacuum, the stopper isn't under tension (so much less likely to develop a leak), and the rHGH is covered in a protective layer of inert gas, rather than exposed to whatever oxygen particles remain in the vial after vacuum. This is a small detail, but it helps prevent degradation and ensures consistency of the product over long periods of storage.

I really think the Chinese encouraged mass production of rHGH 20 years ago specifically with the intention of physically perfecting the population as a whole. I know it sounds dystopian, but there's no epidemic of GH deficient patients in China, yet the govt funded the equivalent of an aircraft manufacturing plant sized complex
devoted to rHGH (and now some other recombinant and other monoclonal antibodies).
This is one part of GenSci's "Somatropin City", with other facilities dedicated to taking the bulk raw from here and creating other "finished products" from it.

Let me clarify. The high quality counterfeits. Near indiscernible from the real thing. The pharma equivalent of "Superclone watches". The supplies are on Alibaba for sale.
This easily spotted crap is created by who knows who using cardstock and a color laser printer to serve the US and EU UGL market, certainly not the high effort fakes made by the Chinese counterfeit craftsmen.
Genotropin and Norditropin are legitimately sold in China, recognized, and sought after, Serostim was never sold there.
Point taken though, you still need to keep an eye out for fakes, but that's if you're making a one time buy, and not likely once you hook up with a "Serostim broker", the type that often has a waiting list for new clients.
