Filters for home brew

Just out of curiosity what is the smallest size um filter Test E can pass through? I’m aware of the .22 and .45 etc.
Reason I ask is have access to an absolute plethora of smaller size and wasn’t sure what Test E will pass through and stay decent. Have 0.2 to 0.5 I have no idea how much of a pain it is to go through a smaller filter but curiosity got the better of me hence the question.

Thanks in advance legends

Stick with the. 22.

I agree, .22 is going to filter out almost anything. Anything smaller and you'll be in for a wait as you are trying to filter. Get the largest diameter you can find, if at all possible, that makes a difference on how long you'll be standing there :)

Test-E will easily pass .1um, where you'll also get some minuscule bacteria missed by .22um and even viruses, but commercial pharma plants don't typically go below .2um in manufacturing, and it'll take a long time to push through.

But if you want "ultrafiltration", the technical term, it's fine, you won't lose any active ingredient.

Microbiology is a trip, but also creepy as hell. I think my favorite is bacteriophages <--(spelling), WTF, mechanical looking, spider like viruses that survive on replicating/cloning inside of bacteria.

Thanks for sharing this information. Any reliable, not overpriced suppliers for filters in the EU?

Where I am it’s easy enough to order from any business that sells medical type stuff. Google usually has reviews etc. it’s the other types of supplies for home brew that’s a little more tricky to source if you get me.

I like these, they're on amazon. I don't know if they'll ship to EU, or if they have an equivalent.

They probably aren't as good as Whatman, but they work and Whatman filters are so damn expensive, just have to be a little more careful. Usually at about 40 ml in, they'll get clogged a little bit at that point. Press too hard and you'll be filtering all over again.
