Finasteride and Minoxidil on TRT?

I haven't recently taken mast but I have played with primo in my trt+. Primo does not help my personal thickness on my scalp even when taking min and fin. The amount min and fin helped? Debatable as I have no control, talking about variables.

Is the juice worth the squeeze? Some get shitty lemons.

I'm a fin hyper responder, 1mg back in the day destroyed me after 3 weeks and it took a month to recover DHT levels and start to restore libido and motivation, scary as hell. When I finally got the nerve to try again decades later (after losing way too much hair), I "felt" .25mg / day mildly depress my libido for 2-3 days, then returned to normal. Now it's been a year with no further loss and significant (for the circumstances) regain in quantity and quality.
It's unfortunate we have a lower, single digit number of negative responders, there's no way to tell unless you try though. I'm glad you regained what you lost, I've seen some don't.

Well those working with hair loss specialists always seem to find a level of DHT suppression that works. It's just that happens to be 5mg Dut for some, which is like an atomic weapon compared to the pebble of .25mg Fin.

They don't convert to DHT, have nothing to do with it.

Taking more gear will make you go bald by increasing androgen load, but this is another "pathway" to kill your hair.

Here's my hair last year at age 39 if anyone gives a fuck. More than I started out with when I got on duta at 28.
Decent. I wouldn't have thought you'd get any regrowth from the dut alone. Deffo gonna consider fin or dut when I start trt.

This is what I'm working with right now. The way I've had it cut and style it I definitely hide it well, but I have to keep it this way all the time. I've shaved my head before but it didnt suit me. Would nice to regain what I've lost with topical minoxidil.

I use oral minox (which might be dangerous). I got a shitload of regrow from that.

I have 1 inch long hairs growing out of my forehead above my eyebrows now. Shit makes you explode in hair.

I had MUCH less hair at 28 while natty before I even started roids in my 30s.

I don't want to tell people to take drugs, but I'd go full bore and take everything if you were losing hair.

Dude you're a prime candidate for regrowth. 5mg / day will do wonders in 6 months. You've got to be patient, you'll even experience some shed at first. There are virtually NO non responders to 5mg oral minoxidil, and it'll lower your BP a little too. Sides are rare, and the few that happen. dissipate after a month or two.

Excess hair is not a problem, insufficient hair is.

I recommend you try sublingual minoxidil. It's side effect profile is less as it doesn't pass through the liver but it's got a stronger hair regrowth effect than topical. Less blood pressure lowering too. Systematic though.

Passing through the liver is what makes oral so appealing. You have to have an enzyme in the skin to convert it to its active form, which is plentiful in the liver (topical non responders typically don't have it ). It's not hepatoxic, and we're talking about baby doses. But whatever works for you. The key is consistency.

Some people don't give a shit about the hair aspect, and all I can say is I wish I was one of them and did not obsess over it because it sucks. I am in my early 30's and I am just not ready to give up on my hair just yet.

Yeah I tried all of them. Sublingual doesn't make me sleepy or feel like ima pass out. So I do that

That's a great way to overcome the sides you experience, I'm impressed!

I'll have to keep that option in mind for anyone who feels like giving up because they get them too.

Guess it's a balance on sublingual. Still lowers blood. Not as strong as oral for growth. But still stronger than typical?

Even without a liver pass, it's probably encountering plenty of the relevant enzyme elsewhere and 100% converting to the active form. Instead of trying to catch enough passing through the scalp.

If you'd link reads it would be interesting. I agree to some but not all. I am open to information though, specifically what you're referencing through the eyes of hair loss specialists

Hair is part of your "physique". If anyone here thinks looks don't matter, then why are you taking drugs to improve your physique?

It matters even more as you get older. You don't get a pass because of your age.

Having no hair doesn't make you look manly, it makes you look sickly like you have cancer.

I have a free 6 month supply of finasteride from a friend who stopped using it. However, after looking into people's experiences, it seems that many have had better results with dutasteride. So I'm considering setting aside the finasteride and buying a 6 month supply of dutasteride and minoxidil instead. I’m thinking of starting with 0.5 mg of dutasteride daily and 2.5 mg of minoxidil. Does that sound like an effective dosage? Either way, as soon as I begin the trt somethings getting thrown in, lifes too short to be an egg head lol

There's potential heart danger. It could also turn you into a hairy ape.

I'd start very low with it.

The normal adult dose of Minoxidil (for high blood pressure) is 5-40mg. So 5mg is already at the bottom of the range.

Heart risks are only an issue for those with existing heart or kidney disease. Otherwise, it's an extremely safe drug with only excess hair growth and, much less common, water retention in the extremities.

That said, nothing wrong with starting at 2.5mg / day for the first month to allow your body to become accustomed to it and minimize possible sides even further.
