First anavar only cycle-questions

Hi,
I am new to this so not exactly sure what I'm doing! I just wanted to get a few questions answered that I am confused about.
I compete in npc bikini shows and want to start prep in the next month for a show in August. However, I also have a cycle of var I wanted to take. I haven't taken it before, but I've been told that I need to run two cycles of var to see a difference. I was told that my first cycle of var I will gain weight. So I'm not sure if any of that is true. But if I'm going to start prepping, I don't want to run a cycle of var and gain weight!

There are more knowledgeable ladies around, but I just want to point out the obvious that us ladies tend to overlook: steroids are drugs developed for sickly patients to gain weight/retain muscle mass while they battle illnesses of various severities.

Var is great for lean gains, but you will most likely gain scale weight. Your muscles will fill and get hard, you will get solid and bigger. Your pump when working out will be very noticable. I often have to loosen the band on my activity tracker on my wrist. You will notice any muscle gain before fat loss. This is even with eating at a deficit and doing cardio. Oxandrolone was made for HIV patients and severe burn victims to gain weight while completely sedentary and probably unable to eat much.

At more advanced levels, competitors will use it after a bulking cycle to cut; but I can say with confidence that you will gain beautiful muscle mass and probably some scale weight on var. But it's totally worth it for strength and body composition.

Weight loss and getting smaller would be down to diet, cardio and EC stack/clen/yohimbine or whatever floats your boat.

Most ladies I've spoken to about var lose about 8-10 lbs of water weight and a little fat after cycle and love the recomp results, but stay away from the scale during cycle.

Thank you so much for the in depth response!

I want to lose body fat and tighten up for my competition, but also want to maintain muscle

You can do all that. You'd have to make sure you keep a caloric deficit. Stick to higher reps.
A lot of people use Anavar during their cutting phase. It's great to preserve muscle and prevent catabolism.
You may retain a bit of water at the beginning but if you drink ~1.5-2 gallons of H2O a day you shouldn't have an issue.
Just so you know it will have some sides so you gotta monitor closely.
Clit swelling/sensitivity and acne are the most common ones, but not limited to. Everyone reacts differently to AAs.

Perfect! Thank you so much.
Another question, can I run two cycles back to back? Or would I need to take time off in between?

I wouldn't run them back to back. Less risk of viralization and it gives time to your hormones to adjust. There are some women who run really long cycles and/or take very short breaks but I think in this game better safe than sorry. It's not a sprint you know?

Usually a good rule to follow is take a break for as long as you cycled.
I'm running var too. If you have any questions feel free to msg me. I'll be happy to assist you anyway I can. You can also browse through my thread, there's some good info there :)

Okay thank you! I will be starting prep next week for 18 weeks. I was going to start var in the next few weekends and run it for my whole prep. Is that smart to do? My goals like I said are to lose fat, build muscle/ keep my muscle and be stage ready in 18 weeks

I think to keep sides to a min I would run var for 12 weeks max.
Technically you could run it for the 18 weeks but the chances of viralization are higher.
After a few weeks in your cycle you'll be able to determine by yourself how much your body tolerates.

For your very first run, don't go past 8-12 weeks. And whoever told you that you need to run 2 cycles of var to see results, clearly has no idea. Usually you make the most gains off your initial cycle as your body is virgin as well.

NOTE: Steroids are not fat burners.... that's what your diet is for. You will need to ensure your diet is also adjusted to the various compounds you take. Steroids will also assist you in building muscle and preserving it while in deficit.

I would throw in an ECA stack to assist you with fat burn.

What are your current stats?
