So yesterday was my first ever shot at homebrewing. Followed all the steps to a tee and figured all my calculations. Everything went smoothly as far as I could tell. I made a few vials of test and about 60mL of primo e brewed at 200mg/mL. Last night the gear was perfectly clear.
This morning one of the vials of primo seemed like it might have crashed. At the very top of the gear, like at the surface, there were some light streaks. Didn't really look a lot like crystals or other photos I've seen of crashed gear. Honestly just seemed like the MCT oil I used had a thicker viscosity or something like that which left small traces around the surface. I chose to follow some instructions on an older thread here. I added a marginal amount more of BA and BB through a filter, then vented and set the vial in a bath of warm water with an alcohol prep pad to cover most of the rubber stopper like I read to avoid moisture getting into the vial.
Not sure if that method worked, but the vial was only in the water bath for maybe 20-30 seconds tops, and the water level reached probably less than 2/3rds of the way up the vial. Yet afterwards as I was looking at the vial I noticed a few droplets that formed above the surface of the primo.
This is my first brew so I could just be obsessing over nothing, but I figured it was worth a shot to get some second opinions. I really really don't see how what I'm looking at could be moisture and I'm hoping its not, since I'm thinking its most likely beaded up oil. But again, any second opinion would be really appreciated. I put up a few photos of the test, the beaded up primo, and another vial of primo I brewed for comparison. The vial in question that I'm worried about isn't as full as the others because it was also the last vial I made. Maybe I'm getting too in my head and fretting over nothing. Otherwise the batch went perfectly, I'll post some other pics if anyone's interested. I think I went really well for a first shot.
