first cycle for a young athlete with extreme goals

Why are you worried about conditioning in the off season, that should be about get stronger, bigger, balance and body control, not conditioning.

You could be in game shape in six weeks our less. Read some of defrancos conditioning articles. I also highly suggest his agile 8 for you.

Oral hepatoxcity is extremely over blown on the boards imo because of the fear of newbies abusing them.

Make sure you aren't being tested for before you touch anything I mentioned above.

hmm interesting i'll definitely look into the defranco stuff, thanks. i highly pride myself on being fitter than anyone else on the pitch though so for any upcoming season i'd personally need a bare minimum of 2 months to get in the shape i like to be in.

about the oral stuff. even if it is overblown, i'm not going to not have a few beers on saturday nights with my teammates/best friends after our games so orals are not even in question if i'm in season. the only exception i can see myself possibly making is to use halo for the last few weeks of a season and into the playoffs to give me that extra UMFFF when things matter most and my competition is consistently at a higher level than normal.

what do you guys think about running an EQ only first cycle?

I've just been throwing around ideas in my head and I want to see what everyone thinks of this one? I feel like frontloading this and running it during the season might be a good idea due to the boost in endurance it gives.

You said you have about 2 fall left before you leave school I suggest you wait till then give your natural test and gains to developed a Lil more because let's be honest no matter what we say your go for it so read a lot more and educate yourself there are a lot of good dudes here well known members and article to inform yourself so best of luck I'll follow you to see how you are doing

I loved EQ only cycles.

true i do have another whole year after this upcoming season.. I'm absolutely willing to listen to the advice of the vets here. And i definitely care about my natty test levels mostly because i do want to have children one day, although realisticlly that wont be for at least 10 years. Most of the vets that have commented seem to be adament about me being too young even though they've read what my goals are.. Idk, i'm thinking now maybe i could wait til the summer before my last fall season to start using. That would be almost a year from now.

At the very least i guess i can keep reading until then and learning all i can to set myself up for a more successfull first cycle/blast.. We'll see, i need to think about it

could you tell me a little about your experiences doing that? Do you play any sports or anything that require endurance? If so how much did it help in that aspect?

I'd really love to hear about your eq only cycles as i'm strongly considering that over test for my first go. Also, do you frontload?

no, I don't play sports. I like to lift weights and train for me. there is no down side to running EQ only cycle. EQ does increase your RBC, but that is what you are wanting. make sure you drink plenty of water and eat plenty fat. that will help keep your veins and arteries lubed :)

I think that as of now i'll wait at least until this fall season is over to start. By then i'll just about be 22.

Also by then i'll hopefully have a few trustworthy sources figured out.

I feel like a test only first cycle would be better if i start in the offseason, and an eq only first cycle would be better if i start in the preseason and going through the full season, when conditioning and endurance become a higher priority.

Thoughts?

First of all. I wish you great success in achieving your rugby goals and I'm not going to discourage aas use to reach them. However, just want you to see another point of view that could effect your lifetime goals, such as, health, family life, etc.

Take a moment to read the OP of "2 failed pcts, doctors of no help" in the steroid cycle sub forum. Know this, sometimes you wen, sometimes you no wen in choosing aas.

Also, to expand HFuge's advice on fats lubing the veins, stick with the god fats, olive, nuts, avocados, etc and minimize intact of the dirty fats. Keep us posted on your progress, regardless of which path you take.

I'm old school and Testosterone was not a base to any cycle. now days it has become the norm, cause they have AI/SERM to counter react the side effects of Test. pretty much any AAS will work, but you should pick the best ones for you situation. I never even touched Test until I was 30 years old.

Alright time to get your game plan down on Rugby first. You playing Rugby not backed by your college but a club at the University right...you are sanctioned by USA Rugby Union. USA Rugby has no drug testing policy.

The IRB the International sanction does.

Something to think about I would look at graduate school in the U.K, Ireland, South Africa, or Australia. I f you can find a University in an area with a semi-pro club or a lower pro division to join while you are on school this is how to get recognized. I would map out my next 2 years first and have a good idea going about it. Staying here in the states is really going to hinder you ability to be a pro. Even the highest level here is comparable to semi-pro abroad. There are I think 7 teams not a lot of roster spots better get someone to start video taping matches and your performance and sending in highlight reels.

USARL has 11 teams on about half the guys on the national team come out of this league. A good portion of the rest play in England. So is USARL all bad no....but it is still looked at as semi-pro.

thank you very much, this post is greatly appreciated. I'll definitely look up the failed pct thread you mention.. actually i'll go do that now.

thank you

interesting, that's good to know, thank you. We play in the spring season too, it's just not as serious (competition-wise; it's not like we take the games and our performance less seriously though) so if i wait until after this fall season to hop on, i'd probably go with eq since the extra RBC count will help as I'll still be playing pretty frequently, even though it's not the main, fall season.

excellent post, thank you. these are not things i've thought about a whole lot yet. i've definitely already realized that i'll have to go overseas eventually to take this to the next level, but laying out an actual plan in my head is something i have yet to do. I appreciate you giving me a solid reality check here.

@ruckin all great things don't happen on whim. There is always a great deal of planning when it comes to success.

One of the down falls for young athletes and AAS is not looking at the future and having a plan.

absolutely i agree. i know this is going to be a long-term process and i'm going to have to be smart and very careful. I'll have to try and sit down with my coach(es) at some point too and get his view on what realistic short/medium term expectations should be for my career.

That is a great place to start. Now you are thinking try to lay out and plAn. Don't be afraid to dream big just keeps legit with yourself.... You know you.
got it man thank you for your support it means a lot, especially being new here
