Foam Rolling?

Who foam rolls? It seems it should be involved more than you hear about it. Going to learn proper technique and do so.

Not a lot of technique to it... Apply pressure with the roller and.. Roll.

It's a much more heavily utilized tool for strength competitors I think, powerlifters especially... I've seen people rolling for at least a half hour before even doing the rest of their warmup. Always seemed a little overkill to me but, I'll admit, the further down the PL rabbit hole you get... The more you tend to appreciate the importance of a thorough warmup. The higher level guys can easily spend over an hour doing warmups, to include rolling. The more weight you can move, the more warmup you tend to need.

For BB, I think it's a good recovery tool. I'm convinced my biceps grew much faster/better when I did deep tissue massage after training them.

it does have a little technique but all can be found online.
I rolled the other day my lats and the after effect was something else. Much more over head movement and openess. Going to learn myself.

From fascia work, which is also more important then i realized. Which most likely could attribute to that growth you saw.

It's been a part of my morning and pre-workout routine for awhile. I have issues with my back a lot and it definitely helps quite a bit. A good lat rollout is almost as pleasurable as an orgasm some days. Lol

Just bought one will be here tomorrow. I am hoping it really helps with my thoracic spine and shoulders. As my shoulders come foward. More than i am used to.

If you've never used one and you have pain in your thoracic region you're in for a nice surprise. Lol. Your back might sound like rice crispies, but it'll feel great

I love to use a blackroll for legs almost daily. I also use it for back sometimes but for legs it really is a blessing. Hard to describe what it feels like after using it but the muscles feel way better / way more relaxed after it

Also definitely increases local blood flow. So might be useful for recovery a bit? I can see the veins popping everywhere like crazy when i do the foam rolling

I did once, and i felt ranges of motion i just have not been able to get too, then the idea is if you exercise, you incorporate your “new form” since you get ranges of motion back. So when i did it, i felt so relaxed and almost weak in that spot for a bit. So going to start today. Never realized how well it worked.

edit- so before exercise is one way, but odd since i felt weak after, but then you strength that new range of motion, slowly getting back to where you were.

i can see using it for recovery too, just havent learned about that yet.

Do you do facepulls? Those really help with shoulder posture because they build the muscle involved in scapular retraction.

I pretty much do it because my legs often kinda feel wrecked due to training or whatever and after foam rolling they feel much better / even really good. And like i mentioned it also improves blood flow

The overall better feeling is enough for me :D Maybe there are other benefits
