Foods to Eat When on HCG

HCG stimulates the testicles to produce more testosterone. But your body
still needs the the raw materials to make testosterone. Are there certain foods
(protein, oils) to make sure you get enough of in your diet?

Hmmmm... just don't restrict your good cholesterol... as all hormones synthesize from it. Aside from that, a healthy diet (around 2800 - 3200 calories, with lotsa protein) should do.

Zinc is good for a healthy sperm count i think?

I dunno, I just use a big multi-vit after every workout. The bottle (NOW foods) says to take 2 every day, but I think that is massive overkill. I use about 4-5 a week.

Just to clarify so people don't get confused - there is no good or bad dietary cholesterol. The good or bad happens once it is already in the body. :D

To optimize T, it's important to get enough dietary fat, some say 30% is optimal, others say more - more like 40% - is optimal. Don't load up on saturated fats.

But isn't a certain amount of saturated fat essential to hormone production? Or is it just the accompanying cholesterol that happens to be plentiful in foods containing saturated fats?

Earthdog, you're probably right. In a cell biology class, I remember the professor saying that it didn't make sense to cut back too much on saturated fats, for the very reason you brought up. They were essential in the synthesis of steroid hormones. That was over two decades ago - I'm sure there's all kinds of new knowledge in that area.

HCG stimulates the P450scc enzyme, which converts CHOL to pregnenolone, at the start of three important hormonal pathways. Therefore, even though T is being produced by the testes, and same offers HPTA supression, the HCG also revs these pathways back up.
