For those filtering oils - who's using sterile filters, and who's not?

Yeah, that was my assumption and the reason for wanting to freeze, I'm assuming the oil will be unaffected from freezing/thawing but wasn't sure if it would affect the stability/potency of the gear if done semi regularly.
