Not sure if this is suppose to be here - but whatever...

I am trying to figure out the formulas/day for protein, carbs, fat, etc...Like I think protein was 2.5 X body weight = grams of protein you should eat up a day. THanks fellas, appreciate it.

There are so many variables to consider when coming up with recommendations. 2.5g/lb for protein is very high and not necessary.

1.5 x your BW is the norm and what I use. 200lb person would eat 300g protien per day at 6 meals thats 50g per meal. I can't imagine eating more than that.............11

Research shows the protein oxidation increases a great deal once you get past about 2g/kg, or .9g/lb.

Its protein breakdown, or the point at which your body doesnt absorb as much. For example, if you take in .75g/lb (say 150g/day) your body will be very efficient with processing it. But if you take in 2g/lb, then your body will increase the enzymes that breakdown protein so a lower % of protein is being processed the way you want it to. Basically its being wasted. So instead of absorbing 9 out of 10 grams of protein (as an example), your body will drop to 8 or 7 or 5, or something definitely lower than the normal function.
