Starting tomorrow I will begin training for my first Triathlon... I will continue to weight training moderately. What I'm gonna add is more cardio consisting of 5k runs, swimming and riding a bicycle. I'm not expecting to place in the top 20 or anything like that. I'm doing this strictly for fun. I'd like to redeem myself from starting my year off pretty shitty. Any and all advice on training, dieting and supplementing is greatly appreciated.

Props and wish you all the best man. The training and dedication looks insane. Are you thinking half Tri for the first, or all out and go full Tri ?
Thanks for the positive feedback @CdnGuy I'm competing in what they call the sprint run. The gnarly one is the Olympic style one I believe. These are very new to me. I'm not the best at anything however, I'm ok at a bunch of different things. I also enjoy the thrill of something new and refreshing. I'm always gonna weight train and live with a pump. I'm thinking this mite be a little easier on my body. I'll post my trading sesh tomorrow afternoon.

Most definitely man come on up , BC has a great and very competitive community of TRI athletes here. Not to bust on ya brother but you will have to change from Frank the tank. To Frank the lean ass machine ;) haha

Eq and furzabol for the win! Hell do they even make furzabol anymore?? Would love to give it a shot.. or 40 (pun intended).

Awesome to hear you giving something new a shot @FrankDaSkank45 ! Good luck to you brother. My only advice beside (lean out, I know sad to say:() is to train sprinting cardio just as much as distance endurance.

I mean I know you say you don't want to finish top 20 but if you're like me that's probably exactly what you want to do :D. I noticed in college when I ran endurance during off season to stay in shape (besides weight room) I would have a good season. Last two years I added more sprinting/jumping rope/hill sprints/etc and over time increased the amount or distance of the sprints. The results were unreal!

I used to run around East Van with my homeboy smokey devil. I'm no longer aloud in the country. I used to love ripping and running main and Hastings as a kid. I've made my way up to triathlons;)

Good luck man. That takes a shit ton of dedication and training. How much weight/muscle do you think you will lose training for this grueling event? Props to you though I've struggled like hell to put on all of this muscle I wouldn't know what to do if I lost it.

As someone who has a few years of experience balancing strength training with endurance/conditioning work, I strongly suggest that you limit your weight lifting to 2 moderate full-body sessions per week, and focus on your endurance training on 3-4 other days each week. Take 1-2 rest or light active recovery days each week. Good shit brother, triathlons are cool as fuck.

Hey Frank, don't know if anyone's asked you but what happened to ur old name? U fuck up ur account or something? Btw best of luck with the tri....

Im gonna lose a little muscle mass I'm sure. I'm gonna make sure I get strate ripped while I adjust my training. I'm kinda excited for the new look. My plan rite now is basic. Squat bench and dead lift mwf. That will consist of 85% of 1rm to promote strength gains. After weights it will be swimming, 5 k runs, using the ropes with the X fitters and lots of cleans. Sprints are a must to.
