Fruit vs supps intra-workout

Any of you guys eat fruit during your workout, like a banana half way through?

Obviously, an intra-workout drink is more convenient and it's sole purpose is to provide your body with nutrients while you train.

Having a banana can also give you a boost, is easy to digest and extremely inexpensive compared to the intra-workout drink. It's macro profile is obviously different.

Both being considered as 'fuel for training', how would you compare them?

I find bananas a little more difficult to digest. Maybe more so because im a jiu jitsu guy than anything

Fast carbs, sucrose, or fructose is a great tool for providing quick energy during workouts.
When you say "nutrients" what are you referring to? Just carbs or electrolytes as well?

Yea, this can depend on stomach sensitivity, style of training, etc.

I was just referring to the ingredients in the intra supplying the body/muscles with energy, or an extra boost.

Essentially, both provide the same purpose. (fruit vs. intra). I have shit skin genetics, and have used gatorade, dextrose in the past but tend to breakout. Due to this, I have been bringing a little bit of fruit with me as a substitute in the gym. For longer workouts, P/P/L routines, carbs during the workout really help.

I was curious if people ate something during workouts.

So WTF do you mean with energy or an extra boost?

If you want max energy then I would recommend olive oil as it has 39 kJoules per gram. If you don't want to drink olive oil then ethanol comes in second place with 29 kJoules/gram, bacardi 151 is my recommendation. Carbs and protein have only 17/gram.

He is talking about having something to sustain energy during a longer workout. I couldn’t eat anything during a workout, hell- if I eat lunch too close to my workout I get indigestion. Who the hell would bring a bottle of Bacardi or ethanol to the gymo_O personally I drink 75% of my pre workout drink on my way to the gym, then refill the remainder of the bottle with water and sip it throughout my workout.

Yeah, "energy" like I said, olive oil is the best for energy, alcohol is second, carbs have the same amount of energy as protein but is absorbed faster so that could be your third choice.
I ask for clarification and you repeat the same shit then I will give the best answer according to how you worded the clarification.

Yea, that's basically what I did when I was using my intra drink. Big sips during beginning and fill up to last the rest of the way.

If you really don't understand what I was referring to, you must be retarded. My condolences to you for missing a chromosome. God bless.

Yes, I really don't know if you are referring to macro energy, stimulant energy or whatever the fuck the general public calls "energy."

Secondly, are you having problems maintaining your weight? Because it is rare for somebody to need to supplement with carbs during a workout. Most the time it is superfluous and a decent meal a couple hours before your workout should be more than enough.

You do realize there is a huge market in the supplement industry for intra-workout and peri-workout supplements? Lots of these supplements have carbs in them.
Although not necessary, I wouldn't say its rare. A balanced meal before/after workouts are defiantly more important, but carbs during workouts have their place.
Whatever helps you recovery and grow the fastest, would be the best. Feeding your body during workouts when your muscle tissue is being broken down would help a lot.

I realize that there is a market out there that makes people believe they need this and that. Good marketing will make you believe anything. I also realize that 90% of Americans are projected to be overweight by 2030.

So with that said, do you need carbs during your work out? Are you struggling to intake calories?

Lol, I agree with everything you said there.

I just just did a cut/recomp. I have tons of room to add calories to my meals throughout the day, which is what I plan on doing. I won't be using carbs intra anytime soon, if at all. I'll be focusing on my intensity in the gym rather than if I brought carbs with me. My meals before/after the gym will determine gains and recovery.

Maybe if I got free shit like all these youtubers get from supp companies. But that won't happen and ill save my money.
