So a few months ago a buddy of mine from back home was wanting to get back into lifting(he has never seriously lifted neways). I told him to just do some basic lifts for a month or so and I would put him on a program.
After that time i put him on an HST type program. He doesnt have a power rack and there are no gyms around us so he did what exercises he could. I didnt put much time in at all b/c i know this guy drinks all the time and never follows through.
I saw him last week and asked him how he liked HST. He was like its alright. Nothing big. Than he started talking about what he was lifting. This guy is 5'8 or 5'9 and was around 160. The most he has ever benched was around 190 even doing programs he paid a lot of money for.
At the end of his HST he weighed 180 and was benching 230 or 235 and he thought the program was alright??? Keep in mind that he takes absolutely no supplements and drinks beer on a daily basis and still had amazing gains IMO especially knowing his previous history of making no gains. Just thought some of u might get a kick out of this
