For about a month now I have been training with drop pins. There are a number of brands that will work. These things have been absolutely amazing for me. You use the drop pins to do drop sets on any machine with stacked weights. If you train alone, like I do, being able to do drop sets without letting go of the handles is awesome, especially if you use straps for your lat exercises.

Here is a brand that works pretty well. https://www.gxneration.com/performance-pins

Just thought I would put this out there for anyone on the fence.

how does that work
So lets say you are doing triceps and cable press downs, Normally you would take the pin that comes with the machine and insert it into the weight stack at your desired weight. With these pins you can do drop sets without letting go of the hadle. These pins act as additional weight stack pins and they kick themselves out as you progress. So lets assume you want to do a drop set of 175lbs, 125lbs and 100lbs, you would put the *Pins in 175lbs, 125lbs and the regurlar pin in 100LBS. You start the exercise, do reps to failure and then you let the stack touch bottom for a moment and the pin at 175 will kick out of the stack. Then your on the second pin at 125LB and you do those reps to failure and then let the stack bottom out for a second and the 125 pin kicks out. Now you are on the regular pin as your final set.

Absolutely! I was shocked when I used them. After 30+ years of training I had never seen them either. That really shine for lat work.

John Meadows (RIPINPEACE) used these and I always thought they were cool. Never bought one though as it takes just seconds to swap the pin but if I had more stack machines I’d invest in them.

op is right about lat work for sure tho. And it would be nice on some arm machines or anything except legs since our hands are free but still it would help you keep focus on the set.
