The only reason gas prices are this high is because of how much "vested" interest the bushes and chaneys have in Saudi and middle eastern oil...

There was a great article that came out not long ago in Rolling stone detailing the deep connection that the bush family has to the Saudi princes.... It goes on further to say that there has been some kind of agreement made allowing opec to stop production to drive gas prices through the roof, and bush will not fight it...IE opening the nations reserves... Which has now come out that they have about 100million more barrels than they have been reporting because of pressure from the bush Administration.. Most Alaskan and Texas Based refineries have been closed these last couple of months for "maintenance" conveinantly during the time that opec is charging us MORE for oil than they ever have...

Anyway back to my point.. Apparently this agreement to do nothing while opec rakes in money hand over fist will stop a few months out from the election so gas prices will drop and bush can come forward right before the election and say..."See, I've finaly gotten gas prices to go down" So watch close around election..because Gas prices are going to drop. And what's sad.. is that if this true (and I believe that it is) He's let so many small businesses and trucking companies go under and allowed the price of so many things to go up to hit us the american people at more than just the pumps... This just goes farther to show what a slime ball piece of shit this guy is....

Mark my words... come september or so, Gas prices will be back down around $1.20 or so.

It probably would work, but it isn't going to happen...The government relies on the tax money from gas, but people need the gas just as much...How else would you get to work, go places, etc...

Phreezer, I have heard that between Texas and ALaska reserves there is almost as much oil between the 2 as in Saudi...Not sure if this is true but I have heard it a few times...

It's time to get rid of your trucks (for dumb fucks) and suv's (stupid useless vehicles). Think economical, think enviromental. Just got a 2004 corolla that gets 40mpg on the freeway. People all need to buy ecomony cars or at least cars that get decent gas mileage. It's your responsiblity for the country and our environment. Wouldn't you rather pay $20 to fill up intead of $60? Lets stop sending our money to those stupid rag heads who hate us anyway. We need to cut off our dependance for their oil and watch their econony dry up. Oil is the only thing they have that anybody wants. Lets just stop buying it from them.
And watch them go broke.

ok on may 19th I want you to come over to my house and help me push my fuckimg van to do my job

I agree electric cars are bullshit. The electricity comes from the burning of fossil fuels. And as any intelligent person knows the more times you convert energy the more is lost. All of our cars should run on hydrogen with the only emission being water. But the new hybrid cars kick ass since they generate their own electricity and give you 50+ mpg of the highway. The new prius and civic hybrids are awesome.

windigo.. I'm well aware that Gas prices spike during the summer... However, that does not change the fact that the ties and links between the Bushs and the Saudi Princes are more than just a coincidence to the higher prices... You are correct..gas prices do go up in the summers.. but Typically they are not $3.00+ per gallon in May. (which this year I suspect we will be well over $5.00 by mid summer. And this does not change teh fact that head of the Oil reserves has been lying about the amount of oil in the reserves.. and his comment about being "pressured" to keep a lower count than was actually there from being true.

No matter how you like to slice and dice it.. The price of gas right now is very much being influenced by the current administration.

Mark my words as I work in the oil industry....you will never see $1.20. Most in the country will be lucky to ever see $1.70 again. You have already formed a thesis and a conclusion based upon nothing more than your own preconceived notions with absolutely no basis or proof. You obviously have absolutely no idea of the dynamics of gasoline pricing or the true margins that oil companies make. Please tell us which companies are closed in Texas and Alaska for maintenance. You said most. Does that mean 80%? 51%? When you say that these refineries are down, what percentage of any particular refinery is actually down? This is the usual rantings of a Bush hating liberal that has an untenable position. Do you think that Bush controls the futures markets? Does Bush control all the oil from Russia, Mexico, South America? Clueless, absolutely clueless.

If you want to know why Gas prices are so high look to the fucking environmentalists and the democratic party who gives them want. They have not allowed us to develop our own reserves. Daschel killed anwar in comity after the fiat that gave the democrats control of senate in 2001. We haven't built one new oil refinery in 15 years. And we haven't built a single nuclear powerplant, or any other power plants for that matter, since the China Syndrome was released. I'm so glad a Jane Fonda movie is the controlling authority on our energy policy. Perhaps NASA should get their ideas from Barbarela. Any time a new power plant or refinery is purposed the Environmentalist with their endless supply money tie up the proposal in court forever with a bullshit lawsuit that they appeal the way up to the Supreme Court after each defeat. Since the cases are considered low priority the appeals process can take over a decade. By then the proposal has usually been scrapped. Id like to see the Judiciary take some initiative and start fining the shit out of groups like green peace and the seara club. If every day citizens wasted the courts time with frivolous lawsuits like those groups do they would be fined or put in jail for misuse of civil process.

There is no reason that our country should still be dependent on fossil flues for electricity production. If we built more nuclear power plants we would greatly reduce our dependence on oil. Yes that right you fucking idiots who say that we need to all drive electric cars to save gas. The fast majority of all electricity comes from the burning of fossil fuels. What did you think that electricity is some magic form of energy that is created out of thin air? The first law of thermodynamics says that energy cannot be created or destroyed only transferred. If you want to make electricity you must get the energy from another source. If you move a conductor through a magnetic field and you create electricity. But the energy needed to move the conductor has to come from some source. Today that energy source is fossil fuels but there is no reason it should be.

Don't try and make sense, you will only confuse them.

I saw that article Phreezer. The Alaskan issue is just a bunch of protectionist shit in disguise.

Great post bro.
I will bet on your sept. prediction.

Now I want every one to read that sentence and tell me what you see.

P.S. I'm with Bush for not opening the strategic oil reserves. That is a short-term solution to a long-term problem, which we have been doing for far too long. Every year we do so it becomes less and less effective at bringing down gas prices. Perhaps it's time the country felt the sting so as a nation we could finally get a real energy policy through congress. One that opens up drilling, increases the number of refineries, modernizes the power grid, reduces our electrical utilities dependence on fossil fuels, and curtails the environmentalist ability to file frivolous lawsuits.
You got it bro the whole problem is dependancy on fossil fuels!~~but think of the power and influence that detroit and all of the other huge auto companies have.

watever happened to not quoting whole fuckin novels in your posts?
my scrolling finger is killin me

1. Since when did Rolling Stone become a magazine of record?

2. Nuclear power is the answer.

3. Hippie tree-huggers and liberals are against # 2.

4. Gas will hit $5/gal as soon as my Buick drives out of my ass.

5. These boycotts of buying gas are absolutely absurd and are thought up by simple-minded fucknuts that dont realize that if you dont buy gas on Monday, you will buy it on Tuesday. Supply and demand wins out over retarded non-intelligent ideas such as the one posted in this thread.

6. People that own SUVs and trucks have nothing to bitch about, they know before they buy that they will get 12mpg. And if you can afford a $60,000 Escalade, then you can afford $2/gal.

7. Hippie tree huggers, liberals and Toyota Prius drivers have no right to tell people what they can and cannot drive. Fuck you and your solar powered, leaf-burning cars.

8. Mr. I-dont- own-an-SUV-but-my-incredibly-wealthy-family-does can go fuck himself, too.

You have a point Bob. I apologize for implying that people that buy suvs and trucks are stupid. This is america and people have the right to buy what they want. It's just frustrating to see things improving at a snails pace when we have the technology for environmentaly friendly vehicles. It all about the benjamins and that's what holding things up. Belive me I'm not a hippie tree hugger, but shit man if you don't have a clean, healthy, beautiful enviroment to live in and for your children to live then what else matters.

Ok, thats cool. Either way I was going to apologize. That was out of line for me to say. I was just talking shit. I mean if I had my way I'd have some italian supercar that would probably get even worse gas mileage than any suv. Peace.
