Generators

Yo
@Human_backhoe
Get in here.

He literally does custom generators all the time.
Fucker has a Cummins that's literally the size of a truck that we pulled out of a 62 story high rise (back up for an entire bank tower)
Buddy knows his Generators.

We had the same wiring issue on our remodel old depression era house. Electrician called me over and was you gotta check this out it was a giant rat nest of wire's. I literary said fuck I could be a Electrician

I always recommend 8500 watts. That translates to 30A at 240v 120v/120v plus neutral. Reason being that "double pole double throw" disconnects are rated at 30a 60a and 100a and so on. It is also nice to have a few basic running loads too. The basic idea is to have a small sub panel next to your main that can be fed either from utility or generator. It is very very dangerous to back feed when two power sources mix you get a large pretty explosion. The transfer switch makes that impossible. I personally like diesel. This is because the more complex the hydrocarbon (the longer the chain) the more h2o is released during combustion . Water in a combustion chamber is a shit sandwich. Makes future starts horrible and unreliable! Diesel lubricates while it runs. Any system should be designed around our wives or kids being able to safely start and operate while we are away! Both of those are notorious for not following direction ! Hack installs are dangerous. A shower of molten copper and fire and toxic gas dangerous. Message me if you want part numbers or pictures of some cheap standard gear that I trust!
