Hey folks,
61 yo male, seriously thinking of starting TRT.
I don't smoke or drink, have worked out most of my adult life, generally eat very healthy.
My body fat was 8-10% most of my 30's, 40's (skin fold), 5 years ago it was measured at 12% on a DEXA Scan at 57 yo. My bone density was comparable to a 25 yo, except for my left hip, (and sure as shite both hips hurt when I try to squat).
The last three years I have gotten a bit of a belly, including love handles. I use to lose weight easily, now it is difficult. I had blood work done 1-1/2 years ago, and my thyroid numbers were low. I take medication every day. It helped with energy, I had gotten very tired in the afternoon.
I hadn't gotten my estrogen numbers my last visit, but my T numbers were boarder line low. I believe it, more fat, less libido. I suspect my E2 numbers are not great. I started taking creatine about 3 years ago, and damn that really helped with strength, and the ability to get a pump. I'm a big fan. Other that that, I have never used anything else.
Long-ass story, but I am ready to go the TRT route. I believe my doc will go along with it, but I am confident she doesn't have experience, especially with a male. I do like her as a doc though.
I would like to get my numbers up to a reasonable level, and them go from there.
Next, I need to find out exactly what blood work to get. I realize it is a life long commitment at this point. I don't intend to go quietly into the night.
Thanks for reading!
