Getting to the gym after working hard outdoors

As summer is coming and it's getting warmer out I find it a bit harder to make it to the gym after work. Once the 100 degree days start I think it's going to be impossible to get there. I am a equipment operator/ laborer for a enviromental company and am just concerned about losing some of my hard earned gains.... I can't go early cause we start work at 0530am. Just would like some feedback on anyone else's experience

its rough bro.

stay hydrated, eat more/better, take a nap before and see if you can get one in.. i cut back to 3 days a week when i don't have the time/cant make it in and still make good gains.. just takes some planning and motivation.

Yeah I made a thread about calorie deficit at work . I bust my ass doing residential sattellite installations and I'm up and down like crazy. In and out of attics. Crawling under houses. It's always been hard for me to gain mass because of this. Not eating enough to maintain a caloric surplus and also just being burned out from work. What I tend to do is not work out when my body is burned out .I just rest and hit it hard the next day. Sometimes I won't work out til every two days because of how tired I get.. no excuses ever but I feel working out when your body is burned out isn't gonna do anything good for you. Your body needs to rest to grow. I still get decent gains but my gains will always be hard earned because of this!

Man my company works me like a rented mule but I prolly wouldn't have it any other way. I've read a few threads about people not getting enough calories in there nice cushy office job. It's tough being a blue collar worker and keeping my gains. Some days I really push myself. I've actually cut my workouts back by 15-20 mins cause it's getting warmer and I'm doing cardio and heavy lifting all day already... But I guess progress not perfection

Its all about planning. I don't believe in luck but rather making your own luck through preparation and planning. Prep prep prep, and get out of your comfort zone. I know its easier said then done. But if its really what you want you will get t done through these means.

I used to be sleep dependent. If i didn't get 7-10 hours of sleep I wasn't very functional. Soon i realized it was impossible to grow and be successful under these means as a teen. Now I'm blessed to get 5 hours of sleep at the least in turn for a productive day that involves, family, work and training. And of course everything else that goes on with training such as meal prep, drugs ect.

Workout at home - works for me . Go to my profile and go into album #1 and see my outdoor gym , I workout at 5am , 9pm, in the rain , in the snow , whenever . Make sure to dress for the weather and warm-up right . I love it , and no waiting for my turn . Its always my turn .lol. :D

As of late I feel there isn't enough hours a day to balance everything it's a juggling act with a new baby. Only time I have that's my own is training

Stay Hydrated. I'm an ironworker. Outside in all conditions.

In the summer, when it gets really hot, 3 days a week of compound lifts is all you need to keep gains. You should cut up nice. You can't bulk while busting your ass in 90 degree heat for 8 hours.

It's going to a long hot summer and I remember 2 days last year by 1pm I was done. I was throwing up cause of I guess heat sensitivity.... No matter how much water you drink you can feel it coming out within minutes.... You lose weight working outside in the summer no doubt about it but I also want I look my best cause it's summer....

High intensity training 3 days per week. There is no reason to go anymore than that and use up your caloric surplus. Go research a guy named chuck sipes, IT CAN BE DONE!!!!

All I can say is good luck I know its hard working outside. Here is a bit of inspiration.

When I was a teenager there was a guy that worked out in the ymca with all of us kids. He was pretty big, I am sure he was just a few years older. As we all got to know him we found out that he was a laborer at a construction site, his hands was like sandpaper. As the years went on he got bigger and bigger.

The same year that gaspari won some title in france this guy was going to beat gaspari but he did something stupid. He entered into france with gear in his briefcase and they threw him out of the country.

Later on Sergio olive met him and said that he had never ever seen a pair of legs on a human being like that before. Guys would go back to their countries and tell others that this guy was unbeatable.

I have since been trying to find him but I have no idea what country he is living in now.

I don't know what kind of work you are doing outside, but remember this guy was a laborer at a construction site. That is hard, hard, work.

Yes and that's what I do everyday from lugging 50 to 80 lbs a fertilizer and concrete up mountainsides to planting 5000 trees along riverbanks I get it in. It's tough stuff but I pride myself on being able to do if cause not many people can

I opperate on a road paver myself. There is alot of physical activity as well with handworks and cleanup after pulls. We work insane hours and are all over the midwest. I have a membership to Anytime fitness as does my training partner. If you want it bad enough, it can be done. I also train at home alot when we work locally. It can really make things easier. By the way, I have ten month old twins and a four year old:eek: so I feel ya there

A test for me that is approaching soon begins in the month of may. I am going to be working 7 days a week for the whole month. I have never done anything like that before, I really don't know if I can handle it but time will tell. I may have to cut back on my training from 5 days a week to 4.

I will really have to make an attempt to get as much rest as I can and make sure I am eating all my meals everyday. I know this is going to be hard, I am not looking forward to it (why did I volunteer damn).

I'm a heavy equipment mechanic , I have 12 hr shifts and 1 hr drive each way.
I made a makeshift gym at work and on my lunch hr. I hit the weights.
