If your using it for fat reduction and its helaing properties 2 IU's will do, But if you want to use it to help put on mass you would probably need 4-6 IU's a day.
It's the same difference as using Testosterone for HRT at 150mg/week and using it for building mass at 750mg/week.
I'm not sure what was meant by not going over 4iu/day. Many bodybuilders use GH at dosages over that. It is also an individual issue as water retention may be a problem for some at 5iu/day and others don't notice much until using a higher dosage.
As far as using GH at 4iu/day in one shot, no reason not to, especially if you're taking it in the morning.
