GLPs: Anti-Consumption agents, of far more than just food.

One difference between addiction and habit is continuing to do something despite knowing it's not good for you and wishing you could stop.

GLPs seem to lessen unconscious pressure enabling conscious control of behavior.

All animals, from bacteria on up, don't need to be trained, or be conscious of the need to eat. The whole mechanism is automatic, and compels the behavior necessary to seek out and consume food. It does so with increasing strength as energy needs become more critical. It will eventually override the strongest "willpower", and humans can and have resorted to cannibalism.

I think many addictions hijaak that same potent mechanism to influence an addict's behavior.
Cocaine sure does.
