So im used to eating grains every meal of my day, wether it be morning and post workout oats or rice with every meal. Iv been dealing with some sort of anixety/depression disorder for as long as i can remember but recently has been pretty rough. Trying whatever i can to feel better i learned gut health is the key factor in mental stability, disease, pretty much everything. My diet is very clean track all my meals nothing but lean meat, veggies, heathy fats, and grains This same dr recommended dropping grains completely. I am planning on replacing all grains with potatoes, sweet potatoes, beans in hopes of some mental clarity and happiness. Anyone have any experience with this? I also am not gluten sensitive that i know of, never had stomach issues, just mental ones [emoji848]

What is the idea/reasoning behind doc's recommendation to drop grains in order to help you with your problem?

Well the idea behind the grain free approach is that grains cause inflammation in the body and problems with gut health, alot of people say were not even adapted to eat grains. Systemically our gut health is related to a number of illness and immune issues mental clarity and possibly mental disorders (depression, bipolar, add, etc.) everyones to ready to jump on pharmaceuticals to cover up a problem then find the true source of the issue. The environment and 99% of the things weve been taught to consume are toxic to us as well as antibiotics, vaccines, pharma, even toothpaste.

Is this your idea or what the "doctor" said? Doctor of what?

You might have real problems but they have nothing to do with grains.

Then you can move on to saving others from this affliction:

BTW - "99% of the things weve been taught to consume are toxic" - are you for real?

New age syndrome? Have you taken a look around my friend, where do you see this country in 10 years were a bunch of overindulged mindless dying people because we trust the man. The mans killing you brother

Wow - this went loopier than Six Flags in a hurry.

Told you that you have problems, but they have nothing to do with grains.

Could you explain like everyone and their mother is on prescription pills for issues noone had years ago. If you dont think you live in a toxic environment your a very ignorant person. And im not saying grains have caused me problems i was asking if anyone ever experienced the change over. Its not even rocket science its gut health. Our gut health plays a huge role in overall mental and physical health. The correlation that grains aren’t the best thing for gut health could bring up a reasonable question like i had. Im used to eating rice every meal and oatmeal twice a day i eat a shit ton of grains always have...

How long have we been eating grains? Now all of the sudden it's causing depression? We ate grain through the revolutionary war. Through the civil war. The war of 1812. WW1 and 2. Why is it suddenly causing depression? Makes no sense.

I doubt they ate as much grains as the average bodybuilder tends to eat. Im thinking more that over doing the grains could be causing issues. Also not everyone has the same sensitivity to things

My family is from south carolina u cant tell them anything theyll eat grits and pork belly til they watch eachother die
I've got some family like that. lol. For mine it's buttered bread and pasta with butter sauce. Fatter than hell, blood clots, etc. but they don't want to hear about all that "health food" stuff.

I am skeptical on the grain stuff, but I don't think there is any harm in cutting it out of your diet either.

If I remember correctly, Joe Rogan is a huge advocate of eliminating grains. On his podcast, he talks to tons of very intelligent folks that you might be able to get a little more insight into what you’re getting into. I say go for it...if you can improve your mental situation through diet rather than medication, I thinks it’s a win/win. Keep an open mind, and post back here with updates if you don’t mind!
