Golota fighting again

Have you guys heard that Andrew Golota is going to get back in the ring? I heard that Don King is taking him under his wing and is conditioning him to fight. He is working with a trainer and a phsyciatrist. I thought he could have been a great boxer at one time. Then the Mike Tyson thing just made me lose all hope in this clown. Any comments?

He just fought a couple weekends ago against Chis Byrd for one of the HVY WT belts. It was a pretty good fight and Golota won by 3-4 points IMO but thay called it a draw. I'm really starting to dislike boxing because of this..........11

Yep, he fought in the the Don King pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden 2 weekends ago....I was not impressed with the production.

Did he do pretty good? I can't imagine that he can screw up again. He is like a cat with nine lives. How many times can he get saved?

i honestly cant fathom the thought of anyone spending a penny on a don king production. might as well watch all star wrestling since its so scripted

Yeh he did good and kept his head the whole fight. all Byrd did was lay on the ropes and coounterpunch, he landeed his share but he lost and every one there knew it. Skill wise I think he's got a good chance but in the past he couldn't keep his head...........11

I hope he can get his stuff back together and become a contendor again. I used to like him, maybe the Ivan Drago resemblance. Who knows!

used to like golota alot, used to watch him way back making a name for himself on tuesday night fights, he got a shot at bowe and out skilled him but started with his bullshit, got a rematch and did it again, he was winning both fights, i though to myslef... ok hes just a fuckin nut and its cool, he still has the talent to make it,

then he got plowed by lewis quick, and he quit vs tyson, now when i go back and see his fouls, it wasnt cuase hes tryin to be tuff or hes crazy, he gets scared, when gets out of breath or hit hard once he gets scared in there and looks for a way out, hes got all the talent in the world and hes huge and hits like a truck but hes got no heart im convinced,

i was convinced when i saw him beatin up on grant then get hit with one good shot and quit, guys with heart are getting few and far between in boxing,

for me the lighter wieght divisions is were its at, gotti ward , morles, tzu, real good fight comin up marquez vs pakiow, i know my spelling way off, pakiow beat down bareera bad and marquez is one of the most effiecnt fighters ive ever seen with some power to, will be a good one

lower weight classes are def. the best. HW has always been over rated. I'll pay to watch Gatti fight any time.........11

the golota-byrd fight as a draw was jutified, i dont know how you can complain about that scoring. i thought the fight couldve gone either way. golota's stock has only gone up after a draw with byrd whos one of the best in the game. he has yet to beat anyone worthy of mentioning, hes must noted for two fights he was DQed in. but lewis and tyson both destroyed him and i expect klitschko to do the same.

marquez-pacqiuo should be great, I have to pick pacman in this one based on what he did to barrara but marquez wouldve been considered the favorite before that so it should be a great fight.

based on gatti's last performance against that bum branco i think he's on his way down. he fights great fights but he cant beat great fighters. he got whooped against dela hoya and i expect the same if he fights mayweather or tzyu.

just MO.

your right gatti would get whooped against many, i rember he steped up to delhoya and got beat bad, hes lost to others not as good as delhoya, kinda pissed me off that he beat ward and did not fight tzyu, ward wanted to go after tzyus titles bad and wanted to after his win in the first gatti - ward, but they offered to much for the rematch, then gatti wins and wins rematch and complains that he should get more money than tzyu, winner was supposed to fight tzyu, then it was so good there were rematchs, then no title shot for either, ward reitres, gatti fights scrubs, complaing that tzyu name isnt big enough and he needs more money, thats retared tzyu is undisputed champ and has been for years, he should been greatful for chance to get those titles, he woulda gotten paid, anway tzyu woulda handed him his ass, at least ward had the balls to fight him, now gatti is fifghtin people with no names and no titles, hbo will keep throwin him out there im sure, mabey he can find more journeymen to *brawl with* cuase he cant pull that sloppy shit with top fighters, ah well no ward-tzyu

That fight was not a draw. and Byrd and his pitty pat punches are bad for boxing. he looks like Fred Sanford when he's out there.

And yes Gotti lost to The pretty boy. But not to many JR. Lightweights can move up to welterweight and be sucessfull. Dela hoya will find that out when he fights Hopkins.
I agree on the Pacquio comment...........11

I think it depends on how you score fights, i give alot of credit to byrd for avoiding alot of the punches and in the last few rounds he would exchange with byrd and i thought he won the exchanges. I never said byrd won, just that a draw could be justified, couldve gone either way. Byrd in the olympics was only a middleweight and he didnt have power then so its not likely he will have power now. I did see him KO some guiys awhile ago though but it was mostly from valume punching and guys just couldnt take it anymore. If you want to talk to fighter bad for boxing then look no further then ruiz, I wish somebody would david tua him again.

I agree with you about dela hoya, I give him alot of credit for fighting hopkins but I see no way dela hoya can win that. Now hes doing some lame fox boxing series when his mind should be on hopkins, well he has to get by sturm first which shouldnt be difficult.

True. Defense is one of the scoring categories.
