Fucking autoclaving does not equal baking.
The whole point is the increase possible temp from pressure, not the "wet heat" from the steam.
The increased pressure prevents boiling, evaporation, etc, and allows for a higher potential temp to be reached than otherwise possible.
I saw some asshole talking about the "wet heat penetrating the bags holding sterile surgical instruments as evidenced by steam." (that's not a direct quote but close.) Not true, the steam is from moisture in the air that was already in the sealed bags.
Sorry for the first post rant, and I know like 99% of you know this, but when I see people posting about sterilization that obviously have no clue how an autoclave works, it just piases me off.
