First of all I would like to offer my thanks and appreciation to all involved in creating this forum. There was a time (in my life) when the ability to discuss topics and acquire knowledge from like-minded individuals was limited to ones social circle. Now, that reach has extended as far as around the world. The value in such ability can not be overstated.
I enter this space as a man in his forties. Throughout my life I have been involved in physical enhancement and betterment in one way or another. I understood at a young age that one may enhance their physical ability through exercise and weight training.
I was first, and naturally, an endurance athlete. My body type was/is what I would call ectomorphic. I was skinny and had a natural ability for endurance but I was able to put on muscle unlike a true ectomorph. Wanting to be stronger than my peers I began weight training.
Following highschool and subsequent ending of organized sport I started taking weight lifting seriously. It was a hobby but it consumed my daily living. I consumed all media of the time. Wanting to learn all there was to know on how to lift to gain muscle. I was natty, but for a two month period with, what was still legal at the time, androstenedione, or whatever it was exactly. Wow was that stuff effective. Having achieved all, and frankly more than I really thought possible I began to go in a different direction.
As i approached my thirties I basically stopped lifting and went back to endurance training. I started running and cycling. My eighteen inch arms were gone. In their place were 14 and half inchers. At 35 I ran as fast as 3 and half miles in 15 minutes. Cycling became my daily, it was a lot of fun.
Now in my mid forties I am three years back into weight training and gosh darnit I just want to be strong again. I am convinced I can be as strong as I once was.
That's me. I'm here. Once again trying to acquire all the knowledge there is to acquire on getting bigger and stronger. Also happy to share all I have learned and experienced.
