Ok since there are so many guitar players here i say we start our own thread.

Check this out last week i went to set in with some guys that were shit to be kind about it , in other words there was no drummer just 4 guitar players that took turn on drums the next song. Now listen to this shit cause there lead guitar player had a marshal half stack and degitech pedals with a Jackson guitar. LoL now this is what i had was a 150$ BC Rich warlock run threw a fukin battery powered portable amp that was run threw the P.A. Well ive not jammed in awhile and after i got warmed up i shreaded the kid with the Marshal rig. :D

Not trying to jock on myself but it remined me of how much fun the whole band thing was when having fun. So i figure im gona pratice playing more and try it again.

BTW: i only had the rig of the fender amp  and the BC Rich casue it wasnt my rig i was just at a friends house.

Oh hey Chip bro you got 160 minutes of Thin Lizzy OTW most of is Live with Sykes/Moore , and i swear i think Skyes makes Moore pack lunch live but you be the judge. And hook me up with that Hendrix where u said this guy smoked him so i will know if you are on crack or not :p .

Bassgray/Graybass

Got a boat load of basses over here!! Been playin 20yrs in pro circuit (clubs)
Plus about a million failed demo's with many artists
You don't know how many times I got told I should get smaller because, I'm making the guitar and/or lead singer look bad!! LMFAO!! Fuck the little pussies.
So anyway I finally hooked up with a guitar player bigger than me, and our lead singer is a state champion/national fitness model, We just started rehersals
Wait till the public gets a load of us! I'll post pictures soon.
Sorry, I got carried away with myself. Just real excited about new band!  grayBASS

Hey fella's, I've been playing avout 15yrs now and just can't stop. I play through a fender cyber twin, and my main axe is a clapton strat, with lace sensors. Any of you guy's into fusion, like greg howe, or holdsworth?

Love Music.. Been playing Guitar 15yrs. I have a Jaskson DK2, a Yamaha Acoustic.I bought it 2nd hand for $200-sounds better than most expensive guitars I've played, and I've played many to say the least. Also have a 12 string Fender and a Mandolin. It all goes good with Beer, Firepit and Chicks.

good to see i am not the only one who still plays a b.c. rich. out of all of my axes the 2 richs are my favorite

been playing for over 25 years. tons of bands and tons, like graybass, of demos with a variety fo diverse artists. been teaching regularly for the past few years as the money is good and, more importantly, tax-free!!!

fatboy, greg howe is one of a small handful of players that i would collectively call 'the best'. he is a monster! holdsworth, as good as he is, puts me to sleep. his best album was 'metal fatigue' and that was eons ago...

ftw, didn't you get the h&l sessions yet? i sent that out a couple weeks ago. i'll check with my mailroom tomorrow and pm you bro. can't wait to hear the live lizzy. yeah that sykes is mind-boggling too. moore must've hit the sauce a bit too hard on that evening and not been up to par.... :D

my main axe is american standard tele with joe barden pickups. i can play any style on it but, unfortunately i don't play anywhere near enough to maintain my 'over-the-top' form....

Man I'll tell you there are some pretty intense guy's out there who most people have never heard of, it's a shame. You probably know who these guy's are , but if not check them out.
Sean Lane, Frank Gambale, Ritchie Kotzen, Bret garsed, My all time favorite
Jason becker, these guy's are all unreal musicians, there is a record label by the name of schrapnel records, which is the only label I know of producing albums of this sort.

fatboy, i mentioned all these guys in a previous thread about guitarists but noone seemed to know them. glad you do. all these cats are just untouchable and i've seen them all live as well. shame about what happened to becker. can you imagine what he'd sound like today i he'd continued to play and record? he'd probably be the best of the pack, imho.

you left out paul gilbert, steve morse, danny gatton, jimmy hiland and jimmy bruno. if we're talking about the best, across all genres, it would definitely have to be bruno. you gotta check this guy out live. even then you wouldn't believe your ears and eyes. the guys is that mind-boggling. technique, feel, soul, interpretation, composition; it's all there. i've seen him many times, both at chris' bar in pa as well as nyc when he comes up this way. do yourself a favor and check him out.

you know chip it's a funny thing, most people have no idea. A few years back I saw Holdsworth, and Adrian Legg, at the TLA in Philly, Holdsworth was standing outside smoking with his Stienberger, and nobody new who he was, he almost looked supprised when we approached him for his autograph. By the way Adrian Legg was awsome, he finger picks and changes his open tunnings, while playing. What style of music do you play?

fatboy, adrian legg kicks ass too. good call bro. i saw a clinic he gave at sam ash's in nyc in the 90's. goddamn!!!! great tone too. but for all the notes he plays, his hands don't seem to be doing all that much. did you notice that too?

i play a mix of styles with an emphasis in jazz, country/hillbilly/blues, chord-melody and some rock all in the same song... :D at this time, i find it hard to settle on any one style. hey, that's what the guitar is all about, right?

Yeah Chip it kinda sucks though, I really can't find a market for the kind of stuff I write. I really like some of stuff Dream Theatre did before they lost Kevin Moore.
I just moved back to Philly and I think I'm going to give blues a shot. Some of the stuff I write can sorta be considered bluesy, more like proggresive blues, if there is such a thing. As for Adrian Legg, I don't know if you have ever seen him live, but each song has it's own story, he tells before playing it. That guy is doing something nobody else is, and probably has a fan base smaller than my dentist. My style is like satch meets, Steve Morse , meets S.R.V. .

Damn id say my style was Hendrix/Gibons/Sykes

Yo Chip you get that TL yet and if so tell me that Sykes aint on fire live?
IMO thats some good shreading when you can play back a solo 5-6 times and say how the fuk did he do that!
The second cd has more rare shit and is from like 3-4 concerts at there peak with Moore and Sykes. Demo's with alt lyrics , sounchecks and real rare live shit.

Negi on the H&L session, and your right bro . I think a person can have to many hobies sometimes and kinda make it tuff to have one other than your main hoby. But i broke out my 72 tele and have have been playing the shit out of it.
I figure pick it up atleast every other day or so for atleast a hour and i could be on my game in 2-3 months tops. Let me know if u liked the cd's.

got to be the best amp I've ever heard.

Bro i like alot of straight amp sound and i swear 2 god i loved my Peavy 5150 head and i hate Peavys but it had a pre hot roded Marshal tone to it that was sweet with four 6 by 8 celestions. only efect i like most are deley and a lil wah wah.
