What does California doing to fix the homeless problem?
The problem with this country is that we are creating a situation where you have the well off and I count myself in that camp and then millions of people that are one check away from homelessness.
Hyper competitive job market, more and more education required to do the most basic of jobs and it's not hard to see why the homeless increase year after year when rent is far in excess of what the lower IQ segment of the population can afford.
So what do people do? Do they go live on the streets and wait to die, or do they steal shit to survive?
If no one is willing to rehab these people and get them menial jobs and give them a very small place to live, what else can they do other than live like animals. We don't live on farms hidden away, there's no way to hide if someone is banjo boy from the movie Deliverance. If you're a reject and society tells you to fuck off, where do you go, because there's no place for these people to hide, they're out in front with their ass hanging out.
Just like when the closed all the mental hospitals in this country and ever since we've had all these crazies filling the streets, what do you expect to happen if we do nothing. I only state this as someone with a grandmother who was nuts and was committed, without that place to take her, if she was out on the streets she would have killed someone easily.
