I'm just telling you what I was told by the gunsmith. That is the reason for buying a chronograph.I do know for a fact that it only drops 1/8 inch from 100 yards to 300 yards.I have shot these distances myself.

I will let you know what speed it shoots at.I don't know how fast it would have to be to shot what he said.I do know that a 7mm mag pushes a 150 grain bullet at 3170 fps.I could shot the 500 yards myself but I would have to clear more trees on my range. When the chronoghaph gets here I'll do some testing.

i was in the market for a 308, what kind do you have> have you shot this one/ how do you like it? yeah i hunt in newyork alittle with a 12. but at home i can use whatever, a guy i go with uses a 50.cal for doe, head shots only

Head shots only? That's just plain stupid. And I don't want to hear any bs about too much meat damage because of the .50 cal. It's obviously a muzzleloader, and any centerfire rifle normaly used for deer hunting can do a hell of a lot more damage to meat than a .50 cal ML any day. The brain of a deer doesn't offer a very large target. Tell your buddy to shoot them in the lungs like any responsible hunter should.

Glock .40 cal 22c
Smith and Wesson .38 cal Police special
Ruger P-89 9mm

Worth of a Glock 23

Since there are so many knowledgeable firearms enthusiasts on this board I was hoping that someone could answer a question for me. I know a fair amount about guns but being as I established a decent collection years ago I haven't really been keeping up with current prices. Anyway, a couple of years ago a friend of mine was forced to move to NY city and gave me his glock 23. The gun is in like new condition and I have the 2 post ban, 10 round mags as well as the original box and instructions.

Anyway, I know a police officer who wants to buy it to carry as his off-duty weapon. I've never fired it (I'm a SIG man myself) and could use the extra money. This guy is friends with a really good friend of mine. As such, I want to give him a good deal on the gun but not get totally ripped off myself. What would be an excellent yet realistic price for this gun? If anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

Hey kodiak being it's a .40 cal. and will hold 10/13 and 15 round clips I would take no less than $450 for it.They can be found cheaper but they have been fired.Just my opinion and I'm sure you'll get more.

a slightly used glock in really good condition easily go for $450, you could give him a good deal at $400

Thanks guys. I'm thrilled to hear how much they're worth. I had been thinking that a used one went for $350. I'll sell him the gun for $400 and throw in a couple boxes of .40 cal ammo I have lying around. Thanks again.

as for the cops in NYC, they carry hydra shocks in their 9mm's. nothing else is allowed. unless you still carry the old .38cal 6 shooter. last i remember they were loaded with semi-wadcutters  .

authorized duty guns are the glock and smith & wesson. they tried the ruger "P" series, but it didnt make it. Sig's made the cut, but were later dropped due to "corrosion problems"....only NYPD. for back up, you could still carry a .38, or the Khar 9mm.

have a nice day

wad cutters are insane, there is no way they are allowed still. PA has them as illegal arms

www.yourarewrong.com i dunno where you get your info/shit from. but i am from bach woods, we lift, drink, shoot and fight. he shoots. i am in a 1250 yard shooting range. we don't drop to your 30/30s or 7mm mags. one guy had a 22-250 and the rest are 50. cals. 4500 fps ate the barrel, enough force at 1000yds to go through an engine block.
