you are saying that this dude deer hunts with 50 bmg?!?why?what do you mean "we dont drop to your 30-30s or 7mags"?and what is 4500fps at muzzle?22-250 at 1250?a 50 will produce about 14000 flbs of enery at the muzzle,so this is true that it will blow an enigine block to to shit at 1000yds,but thats what its for,small armored vehicles and long range shoots,o=not for game animals.what bullet does he use.please i must know the answers to these questions,i foyu know them.

ijustmedu said earlier that his friend or something shoots doe in head with a 50.everyone took as a ml,but no, then he talks about 1250yard shoots.read his post above mine where he quotes pred.thats how i took it,but i believe he really dont know what he is talking about though. 4500 fps in a 50 bmg gimme a fuck break,he dont have a clue. :rolleyes:i feel dumber having read that.

I know who said it Maxx. I guess I should have asked why someone would deer hunt with a 50BMG.
 
I don't have a permit to carry, but I do have several guns. My favorite is my Colt Anaconda 44mag. That is a sweet revolver. I've also got a couple of Pedersoli's. One's a 45-70, the other a 45-90. Both are rolling blocks. Those things are freaking cannons.

why does he hunt with it? cuz he is a redneck.
the 1250 comment. its a target shooting leauge. just about everyone in it uses a 50. that incomprehensible rambling about the 7mm mags and crap must have had a purpose, but it escapes me right now. perhaps i'll get back to you on that once i decode it.
 
on that site, they say the 700 grain bullets travel at 2950 fps. i know that the 50BMG's also come in 500 grain. but still, 4500 fps is ALOT!! possible? yes. how probable it is, well i dont know. my reloading manuals are old, so they dont list the 50BMG.

smallest bmg ball ammo ive seen is a 640gr i think,even if they load a 500gr 4500 fps would be impossible.the powder charge would be to great and the action would more than likely be blown back into the shooters face.750 amax is around 234.00 gr of hbmg (est because my books are at the house)@ 2800fps.that peaks sammi standards for that round.even if you lower the grain bullet you have to up the charge to get proper pressure,therefore to get an extra 1700fps would be to much powder for the shell to hold.unless maybe you where about 10000 feet above sealevel and had an 80in barrel you may 4500fps out of it.i wasnt being a dick i was just saying that not many rounds will clock at 4500 and a(shoulder fired)50cal will not.its a mighty round but it not omnipotent,it has its limitations.
im as red as they come but would never shoot any animal with a 50.thats just me though.i would worry about where that 750gr bullet would end up.plus im lazy and would never lug around a 30+ pound gun around to hunt with.ill just stick with my little .308s and .243 and leave my howitzer at home till i go to africa.

ok....well i could've sworn that i read about a 500 br bullet for the 50 BMG. could be wrong though. and i agree that 4500 FPS is insane. i dont think it'd blow the action back into the shooters face, but i do think that no-one has gotten to that velocity. either way, i'm not disagreeing with you, just curious for own knowledge. like i said...possible. yes. but i sure as hell wouldnt want to be the first to try it :eek: .

Well, to tell ya the truth, I'm not that good of a shot when it comes to targets. But as long as I hit the intruder who breaks into my house, that's good enough for me, hahaha.

If I fire off all 8 rounds, that should at very least, scare the livin hell out of em :D
