Well, to tell ya the truth, I'm not that good of a shot when it comes to targets. But as long as I hit the intruder who breaks into my house, that's good enough for me, hahaha.

If I fire off all 8 rounds, that should at very least, scare the livin hell out of em :D

yeah it will do that.its big and slow but its like hitting them with a ashtray from a cannon

lmao yeah they should be running. My dad has a 38 snub nose worthless SOB. I still remember when I was in kindergarten and my brother and I snuck it out of the house and shot a 22 shell through it. I was standing to the rt. of my brother. he pointed the gun and shot and a branch off to the left got hit(seems like it fired straight left but i dont remember for sure) haha. Pretty lucky. Would've got our asses kicked if he found out. Made me teach my son at an extra young age how to use my guns so he won't be curious and try that shit w/o me. Plus my pistol is kept where he cant get it

All this talking about guns got me all pumped up. I just got back from the range...fired off about 350 rounds. Def. relieved the stress I was suffering from this week...very theraputic :D . I am usually a pretty good shot, but was a little off tonight though.

We went rabbit hunting. My son shot 3 more. He has gotten 5 now. My ex shot a couple. I just watched but am getting ready for some coyote hunting in a couple of weeks.

Thick, do you need a license for coyotes? You gonna be doin that near you or back near your parents?

*snif, snif* I wanna a gun!

I imagine u need a license. I will be doing it back by my parents. You need to get yourself a couple of guns and start shooting some.

Im a poor boy right now, so a 30.06 or a 40cal arent in the budget right now. Though I suppose a .22 or .223 would work just fine for coyotes.

.223 would be great 30/06 would be overkill and the bullets are more expensive

Agreed... But If you are a good shot, a .22 would do it. I have been known to even use a 30/30. But it's been many a year since I hunted for coyote... Not worth the trouble anymore...and it's certainly not worth staying up half the night.

U hunted them at night? I haven't ever done that but know some people do. We have so many of those bastards around. A friend of mine is supposed to be getting a predator call. I have only hunted this way once and didnt get anything. Other than that normally have just shot them while deer hunting.

We used to sit on the edge of a milo field in an old farm truck...along with the "wounded rabbit" predator call..and a 1,000,000 candle power spot light!! :D worked great..

Or another method... because there have always been so many snow's and blue's, you could kill a dozen and throw them along the edge of a tree line and sit 30 yards away with a .22 and a spotlight and peg them off as they came for the dead geese.. That was productive..but again..I'm too old to sit out half the night just to kill coyote's.

I see. Sitting in a pickup bed drinking a 12 pack of milwaukee's best shooting coyotes. Sounds like a fun night. I am not sure which route I will go yet.

thick, you never hunted coyotes at night?that the best time.get a johnny stewart caller and some tapes.depending on what time of the year is how you pick the tape.if your overrun with those bastards, they will come running to the call.we dont have that many around here quite yet,but their #'s are growing.we mostly kill foxes here.just check your local laws though, night hunting is illegal as hell here as with most places for coyotes and foxes.

Not here.. In kansas.. Coyotes are considered vermon, and it's not even necessary to have a hunting license. You can hunt them any time of day...

no shit!here in nc we have to have a license for everything.and no spotlighting unless your coon hunting.foxes and coyotes are considered vermon here also its just illegal to kill the bastards at night, but sure is fun!theyll really only bust your ass if you try to sell the hides though,or if the warden is having a bad day.

I will find out. Sounds fun as hell. I know season is year round for them. There are tons of coyotes here. You can hear em howling and yipping all the time. I am getting excited. I need to get a call if my buddy doesnt. How do you know when to hit the light at night? dont they get so close that they smell you?

Lol.. You sit downwind bro.. You can do random runs with the light.. Just turn it on and scan the bait area from time to time(you'll also hear em when they try to pick up one of the geese...their little eyes will light up like big ol flashlights. and they'll freeze solid for ya to get a good shot when the light hits em..you need two guys though.. one spotter one shooter..you and your boy can take turns.. might be hard for a kid though..because coyotes look an awful lot like dogs to kids... the nasty mangey bastards that they are.

dude,i know that here they will get so jacked up that they run in fast.the only thing that i use is a 12ga with 3in 00buck.that will breakem up good.i have a 20ft cord and me nd my huntin bro have shot my speaker numerous times!foxes will come in sooner and faster that coyotes, but that cause its alot more of them.around mating season use a fighting call, they will come in like their ass is on fire.in the spring a pup distress works best.and in between any prey call works.im not the coyote calling master YET,but im am on foxes and it all works the same.you have to move around and change your game around because they are very smart fuckers.if you find them being timid, all you have to is(you know those weeble wobble balls) the ones with the gyro in them?well find one and put a piece for rabbit fur on and throw it out there, theyll run right to it.about the light theyre not scared of it (atleast here theyre not)shine it every little bit,and if you see one leave the light on him and run right up,and then smoke his ass.try it you will be a master in no time, and warn you it is addictive.

If the wind is out of the north I have a perfect spot to try it. Won't be a problem with my son. He is still pissed b/c he tried shooting a coyote with his pistol bb gun out of my car one night and i pulled forward too far so he couldnt see it anymore. I didn't know he had it in his sites ha ha. He will be ready. He shot 3 more rabbits Saturday. Getting to be really fast at aiming. I already have the spotlight. Just need the call. I had a predator call but lost it in one of my countless moves
