GUNS, GUNS, and more GUNS!!

So how many guys here are gun nuts like myself?! Feel free to post some pics, if you aint scared of the ATF showing up and shooting your dog! ;) :p
There are some, not a ton. I posted this a while back and had some guys jump in. Hopefully more respond to you.

I'm a pistol guy, love trying to get better for self defense. When I was deciding my first one, I got a 9mm and stuck with buying 3 other 9mms. My favorite is my Shield Plus PC. I don't see a point going to a 40 or 45, easier to just stock up on one type of pistol ammo.

BTW. Current sale on 9mm, I don't know how long but good price.

Have 2 cans still in jail, was supposed to be 90 day turnaround with the eForms 4 submissions. Total BULLSHIT, sitting at 268 days right now and still no approval on the one and the other I only have 34 days in so I know that one will be awhile.

I'm not a collector by any stretch or sight but I have a variety of styles and calibers. I am a concealed carry guy, too.

My carry firearms are mostly 9mm, I prefer small compact and light. My go-to is a Ruger EC9s; it agrees with me, I know it well which is important of course. But overall for a 9, I just enjoy shooting my S&W Shield. It's a ton of fun.

I also hunt, both midsize game and varmints. Nothing fancy but I've got a Mossberg 500 combo for deer, wild boar and larger fowl near home and for Elk on my trips to the Rockies of the Western US. I use an old Sears brand 20g for quail, pheasant and the occasional rabbit. But mostly I use my trusty 1965 10/22 for hare and squirrel. I don't hunt anything I never intend to eat, just have to throw that out there.

Side note regarding hunting, I also do bows - recurve, compound and cross, just depending on the season or mood.

But yeah man, gun on, gun masters out there, wherever you are.

For home defense I have a FN .40 loaded with hollows. Hope I never have to use it but it would do the job very well. Been telling myself for ages to build an AR but I want to take my time and do it right so that project can wait until I'm not so busy.

My concealed carry is a walther 9mm. It's small enough to put in *some* of my coat pockets. Otherwise I can tuck it into my pants and nobody has a clue.

Just bought a diamond back ar-15 to add to the collection. Loving the weight and overall feel. Having a hard time deciding on a sight for it. Currently using a sig saure red dot but that shit looks funny and need more range. .308 is up next I am thinkin

Glock FD917 with silencer
Anschütz MOD 1782 308. win with silencer

Use them for hunting

I’m with you boys! I have a pretty decent little pile of handguns, daily carry being a S&W M&P 40. Home defense I have 2 FNX .45s, one tactical with a RMR, which I have 6 mags of 15+1 capacity hollow points. A pump action and a semi-auto 12 gauge. Have a S&W AR-15 with a trim icon red dot, and a laser on it. My squirrel gun is a S&W M&P 15-22 with a Vortex scope. Currently hunting deer and elk with my 28 Nosler, or 7mm mag. Shot a bull at 804 yards this year. In the process of building another 28 nosler custom with a sound suppressor, which I’ll be waiting until the end of time to get. Starting a 300 blackout build that I’ll be able to use the same suppressor on. I’ve got my bases pretty well covered for most scenarios.

What is my favorite hobby outside of the pain cave? Building firearms. I love it. I don’t want to post pics due to security concerns, but I have a safe with enough firepower to make John Wick sauce his undies.

I actually just finished up a build on a .458 SOCOM last week. It has some massive knock down power. I built it with the intention of using it for thinning out the wild pig population. The ammo is ridiculously expensive though.

Other than that, I’ve built ar-15s and ar-10s of all calibers, configurations, lengths, and purposes. I shoot a franchi for bird and turkey and I have an assortment of long range rifles for deer and other wild game.

Handguns….all I own is Glock. My main carry is a Glock 43 x. It’s perfect for concealment and I don’t see a need for more than 10 shots. If I’m in a situation where more ammo is needed, it’s gotta be a war type situation.

I bought a Glock 19 and SW Shield Plus at the same time. The Glock trigger feels cheap and much harder than the Shield.

Truth is the Glock just sits as I prefer training with the SW. Is the Trigger a common part to upgrade or do I just need to get used to it?

A trigger upgrade is definitely an option if you want something with a little bit heavier feel and smoother squeeze. Apex has a nice trigger selection for Glock 19’s. They aren’t overpriced and are a nice upgrade.

The main thing I love about a Glock is the fact that they are pretty hard to fuck up and easy to break down and clean. I’ve dropped some of my glocks in the mud and water, got sand in them, and numerous other cringe-worthy accidents, but picked up the piece and they still shot like nothing even happened.

Don’t get me wrong, S&W is a very solid firearm as well, though. They are tried and true. I said earlier all I had was Glock pistols, but I have a little S&W bodyguard .380 pocket rocket that I like. That’s my wife’s carry. I just don’t like a traditional safety switch on a pistol. I like to be able to put my finger on the trigger and make it sing if I have to.

It’s funny, guys either seem to be all Glock, or hate them. I haven’t shot one in a bunch of years, but I made my mind up that I’m on the hate side from the few I’ve shot, which probably isn’t even fair. I’ve had some super cheap ammo not want to cycle on my S&Ws, but for the most part they’ve been pretty indestructible. If I had to stick with one brand, that I own, it would probably be my FNs. I’ve never had any kind of issue with them, I know some of the older ones had a bad wrap, but I’ve never experienced it first hand. I’m with @fike on the not having a safety, for my carry gun, which is one of the reasons I like that M&P.

Haha. That's the truth. Same thing goes with 1911's. There's not much of a group that's in between. I honestly wasn't a huge fan of the Gen 1-3 Glocks because of the grip size. I'm naturally small framed and small jointed, so I have smaller hands, and a disproportionately large penis. The grip size was a little cumbersome because of my hand size and that made it uncomfortable. When the Gen 4's came out, they made it where you could change out the beavertail grip to make it narrower or wider, and that's when I became sold on them.

I've had a couple sigs that I liked as well. They were very good shooting pistols. FNs are foreign to me, so I'm very ignorant when it comes to talking about them. I've never shot one or held one if my memory serves right. I'm not completely sold on only using a Glock for the rest of my days; I'm open to trying some different manufacturers, but that's a big step to take for a man to take. It would like trying to date after getting a divorce.

Glock 19 is hard to beat. Concealable, and long enough barrel to get velocity/expansion.

Glocks are no nonsense hole punchers. No, they aren't pretty like a stainless, alloy 1911.

My first pistol ever was the Ruger EC9s and I’ll never get rid of it. It’s nice and concealable although I must say when I first took it to the range took me awhile to get used to the snap. I had to put the pink extension on the mag. Ive pocket carried it mowing the grass and doing shit in the yard during the summer while the kids play outside. Anyway since then I’ve bought the Ruger LCP and the Ruger LCP II in 22lr and I love that little pistol lol I’ll be getting the LCP max at some point In the future. I kinda turned to Glocks as time went on and fell in love with AK over the AR platforms. I forgot to mention I also have the Ruger 10/22 and been looking at the Franklin armory binary trigger for it - look that up on YouTube!

Sigs are great too!! One of my buddies is a Sargent for a local police force, and uses an Sig 40 as his duty gun. I should probably give Glock another try, too many people that know way more about guns than I do swear by them. I do love a 1911, especially some of Kimbers stuff, I was shopping Kimbers when I found those FNs, and twice the capacity is why I ended up with the FNX, but they’re wayyyy to big and heavy to carry and conceal, but they shoot great, so I use them for home and truck guns.

My wife and I have gone mostly Glock for convenience, cost, accessibility and performance. G26 with extended mags for me, she's smaller so no extension. Also went with an AR9 platform that uses the same mags for home defense.

Hunting is simple - .308 Tikka and GP100 .357 sidearm.

We have others, of course, but those are our workhorses.

Never been a Glock fan, though I do own a direct knockoff S&W that is so close, Glock sued them. Rather, I did own one. Much like other's misfortune, all mine were lost in a tragic boating accident some years ago. Shame.
