Having issues sterilizing vials

Hello folks,

Any brewers around who can help me out? Having issues sterilizing my vials. I will note my steps below,

1) Rinse vial in tap water to wash the vial
2) Nuke the vial inside oven/micro
3) Fill vial with homebrew
4) Crimp vial

Which problem am I encountering? After dry heating the vial, there are water stains left on the vial. Looks like they are dried up. Second problem, after filling my vial with my homebrew and crimping there appears humid above the homebrew, supposedly water because of the water stains.

Is there any suggestion to fix this humid above my homebrew or any other suggested sterilization method?

The water spots are caused by the tap water that you said you used. After washing the vial your last rinse should be distilled water. Then bake in the oven for a while. Never herd of using a microwave for that step.

I assume you got these directions off of Pfizer’s official website?

Let me ask you a question: why did you believe that this was the right way to do this? Where did this method come from and do you trust that it makes sense? When you read new source intros they go to great efforts to explain the alcohol baths and dry heat sterilization process that they go thru in order to make sure that the vials are not filled with bacteria. Nowhere in those write ups does anyone mention microwaves or tap water. If they did then they’d be out of business within the next three posts.

You’re getting water spots because there’s still water in there. If there’s still water in there then whatever was in that water (bacteria, traces of whatever is in the tap lines) could very well still be in your brew. Your process isn’t guaranteeing sterility and it’s potentially dangerous. Either get a much better process or buy sterilized vials. You don’t want to end up hurting yourself for no good reason.

Buy pre-sterilized vials for now. The level of detail required to do it yourself is outside of your current capabilities.

Thank you. The condensation which appears above the brew is caused by tap water stains? So replacing this by destilled water will remove the humid above the brew?

How is this water appearing if the vial is heat sterilized for 45 minutes and no water is to be seen afterwards? It magically appears after putting in my brew. Is this the cause of the tap water? I got it, alcohol bath before destilled water bath. The method was found on another forum. Thank you for your reply.

Are you using a water bath if so you might have some water in your brew

This water is not visible by eye after dry heating. There should not be any water in the vial after heating as it should be evaporated. The water appears above the brew after filling the vial, not directly but after a few minutes, assuming it's because I used tap water instead of destilled water.

Yes, normal tap water bath. Which I will change to alcohol + destilled water bath.

What im saying is water is getting into your oil then evaporates forming condensation inside the vial use a magnetic stirrer hot plate can find one on amazon
