Monsoon is the Hammer leg press you're talking about the new style from Hammer? The first leg press Hammer came out with is a hunk of shit. It's the one that "pivots" at the top. Very unnatural. In the brochure I have, Hammer now offers what most would consider a leg press. Looks very heavy duty. I assume this is the one you are talking about? To answer yopur question headlinerguy01, Nebula makes a very solid, heavy duty leg press and a hack squat. When I was going to school in Toronto, I trained at the Gold's gym in Mississauga and they have both pieces. The leg press has a huge foot plate, so you can experiment with different stances. I saw a guy do 900lbs on the hack squat. No creaking or moaning from the machine. A Canadian company called Atlantis makes a heavy leg press too. Both of these presses have the normal weight horns and also a pair of shorter ones on top (so 4 weight horns to load up). Flex makes nice leg equipment, but their leg press will only hold 12-13 plates per side. Then you have to load dumbbells or people on top for more weight. At the local Goodlife Fitness (a real weiner gym), they have an Icarian leg press. I don't like it. I don't know what is is about it I don't like, I just don't like the way it feels. Also the cybex sled press is a really nice piece. I think it will only take about 1000lbs though. And no where else to put more. It's nice though.
