Well I am 28, started lifting when I was 19. Have gone consistently besides a couple breaks when I had elbow issues. The longest break I ever took was when I was 22 and didn't lift for 3 months straight cause I had such bad elbow pain that I would wake up while sleeping in agony. Not lifting for 3 months was just terrible, but ever since I have never had elbow issues again. I started out at 5'8" 105 pounds, I am now up to around 165, nearly as lean as I was at 105 ( guessing 7 to 9% bodyfat).

I tend to workout in lower rep ranges to build strength and add size very slowly. Adding size/strength is very difficult at this point after lifting for so long. If everything isn't pretty much spot on ( diet, training) I immediately start losing strength/weight.

My best lifts are db bench on a low incline (25 - 30 degrees) 100 pound dumbbells (highest at the gym) for 10 reps, slow and controlled touching chest each time. Weighted dips with +225 pounds for 2 to 3 reps. Weighted pullups with +160 pounds for 1 rep. Squat 335 x 5. Haven't deadlifted off the floor in a while, but did 400 years ago when I used to weigh around 135 or 140 pounds. I do rack pulls from around the knee now instead, can hit 585 for about 5 reps. (I had meningitis when I was 11 months old and nearly died, it damaged my nerves in one of my legs permanently, cannot curl toes on that foot, hamstring is very weak on that leg, can barely do the lowest weight on the leg curl machine (don't use it, but just to give an example). the whole leg is about 1" smaller in circumference than the other one, all the way up to my glutes.

I workout alone, never really did much BB Benching because of that. Just a week ago I tried practicing flat benching because the 100 pound dumb bells are limiting me. I love weighted dips are nice but the weights I have to use now are causing pain in my thumb so I wanted to give it a break for a little bit and keep pushing heavy weight to maintain that strength. Today I hit 245 for 1 (no spot) on flat bb bench.. Not too shabby for just starting out at it? I would like to get to 315 flat bb bench ASAP ( just because I want to hit the 3 plate bench). From what I have read and seen at various gyms throughout the years, with what I can DB bench on incline and weighted dips I really should be able to hit a 315 bench if I had the neural adaptation (practice) for it like I do for db's & dips.

I have enjoyed many of the post's on this forum and figured I would throw out a little about myself.

PS: Crush those weights and pound that food :)

Welcome to Meso, here you will find great dudes with great advice.

Welcome to meso bro! Like these other cars said, not too shabby and there are good dudes with good info!

Welcome to meso, for a guy your size your numbers are very impressive.
Dont avoid BB bench press just cause you have no partner, i trained many years without a partner, just grab someone for a spot on heavy sets and 315 is just a cpl months away.
Good luck and enjoy yourself here[emoji4]
