Hi All,

Expanding my learning so decided to join up, lurked at first and have been making a comment or two here and there to see how the environment is, seems pretty civil so far so I decided to make an intro.

Stats
41 M
6'1
170lbs (got back into the gym north of 230 and got myself to 190 little more than a year ago.)

I had a heart attack in 2020 (due to hyperlipidemia and stage 2 hypertension) and i've been finding my way back to health and physically feeling "well" it has been a long road but it's getting there. From 16 - mid 20's I was a devoted gym goer but sometime around 27-29yr old I just completely gave up on it and became a sedentary fuck.

Most recently I had mesh inguinal hernia repair done and am now 2 weeks post, wanting desperately to get back in the gym full time again.

Thanks all and look forward to learning.

Welcome to MESO Sir. Wow, congratulations on the recovery. Glad you are here and best wishes on your journey!

Don't post anything for free Brother. At least some donations to charity to get those undies pics.

You will notice many ask for pics but few provide. Make it count. I wish you the best continuing on the recovery. Very inspirational. The heart is no joke.

Fantastic turnaround on your trig/hdl-c ratio!!

Lifestyle intervention only or also meds? Regimen?

Fasting blood glucose and insulin?

Way to go Brother!!!!
Lifestyle intervention -
LISS cardio & gym 2-3x per week + 10k steps daily goal
Dietary changes (40% c/40%P/20%F)

Meds
Telmisartan 20mg AM
Icosapent Ethyl 4g (2AM + 2PM)
Repatha (evolocumab) 140mg EOW
Aspirin 81mg

I am unfortunately one of those rare individuals that gets incredible muscle pain and weakness from statins as well as minimal benefit, I was placed on max dose Rosuvastatin+ezetimibe following my MI (you can see the first value in my chart was Rosuvastatin+ez numbers) and suffered for 2 years before new cardiologist switched me to PCSK9i.

Last FG was 74mg/dL

Currently considering Tesamorelin 2mg/day for recovery help, as well as cardioprotection (https://academic.oup.com/ofid/article/12/Supplement_1/ofae631.633/7988201)

and

Cilnidipine 5mg for further control and reduction of BP in conjunction with Telmisartan, as well as it's cardioprotective and kidney protective implications. My bp at current typically hangs out around 110/70 +/- 10 at recent. (just did a round of random testing and averaging)
Would love input if anyone has on those two choices.

I am also on a slew of supplements that I am happy to list if there is interest.
