Recently, I've had a tearing sensation in my quads, mainly when I squat, which is really all I do for them. The pain is pretty much in my mid to upper quads, and I think more towards the outside of my leg. It's a sharp pain almost like something is going to rip. It isn't all that different from the pain you get when squatting after painful thigh injections, which I'm not doing right now so that's not the problem. I feel like there is no power in my quads when I descend and try to come back up. Weight that was a warmup a few weeks ago now feels like a ton and every rep seems like an eternity regardless of weight. I'm thinking it could either be a quad injury or maybe my IT band, and it could also be scar tissue. I don't know. I was fine until about two weeks ago, and I haven't started doing anything differently in my squatting. About 4 months ago, I really started squatting deep, below parallel by several inches, and that's about the only thing that I can possibly think of that has changed. I doubt this is the problem though, but I thought I would throw it out there.
I also could use some help on what I could do to remedy this if we can figure out what is wrong, and what I can do for my quads in the meantime. I did leg presses today, which I hate, but I went fairly heavy (8 plates per side) and didn't really have any pain. Barbell Hack squats also don't seem to hurt at all, so I'm definitely going to have to throw these in. It only seems to be exercises where I have to descend that give me pain, with something like leg presses I just let the weight bend my legs. I don't know if that makes any sense. Hopefully some of you have some ideas. Thanks.
