I have been making great progress with the 5x5 overthe last year or so but am now trying to up my cardiovascualr fitness. I have been biking for 45 minutes on the off days but recently started to run a few miles because I think there will be some running involved at the academy. My problem is as soon as i start to run my lower back blows up and aches horribly. so much so that after a mile i need to stop even though my legs and lungs are still strong. Should I just stretch it out alot and hopefully i will get used to it over time?

thanks,
Migity

You could always do wind sprints 15-20 of them with no more than a minute rest inbetween sprints. Or Stairs, etc.

I have to ask migity if there are any AAS involved? Lower back probs can often be associated with certain AAS, or with a sudden gain in upper body mass.

I had to pass a run for my job also. I'm not really a runner at all, in fact I can't stand it.So i stopped all leg training and did the treadmill for about a month before the run. I also was not taking anything for that last month and lost 15-20 lbs which helped alot. And i thinkabout 2 weeks before the run I did not do my upper body either. Sounds like yor back is getting tight from the lifting , and going out to run when the back is not recovered yet. D-bol can also tighten your back up. Good luck

no there aren't any aas involved. been clean for several years since i realized I could lift well and eat well to get gains. I have been lifting hard though and i guess that is probably keeping me tight but lifting is what i love. I am curious about the vest? What's the idea behind it?
