Help me please -- Finasteride-induced secondary hypogonadism, low T/LH/FSH, high E

JanSz, I did get tested already for most of what you listed. Cost me almost $1000.

Did you look at the link? http://members.shaw.ca/fuzzyd1ce/

Those are my latest labs. Please have a look and give me your thoughts.

I may start a sepereate thread just to get people's feedback on these latest labs.

Where you sick with some kind of infection when you got this done?

You need TRT.

I my previus post I suggested that you get tested for:
Estradiol, sensitive
DHT, dihydrotestosterone
SHBG
Albumin
Prolactin
FreeT3
-----------------------
I missed DHT=537.7pg/mL(155-553) your DHT is excellent, I doubt your problems are finasteride related.
------------------------------
It is not clear if your Estradiol test is good or not, call lab to figure out if it is the "Ultra-Sensitive" that we need.
In any case try for few months, 6 pills of
http://www.lef.org/newshop/items/item00969.html
and 2 pills/day
http://www.lef.org/newshop/items/item00359.html
------------------------
You also have good enough TotalT, FreeT and BioAvailableT, not great but good enough
SHBG=32, to lower it and improve on FreeT and BAT use LEF
4 pills/day
http://www.lef.org/newshop/items/item00615.html
also 2 pills/day
http://www.lef.org/newshop/items/item00975.html
---------------------------
You are over the range on
RBC, hemoglobin, Hematocrit
too low on
Platelet Count --(Decreased platelet counts may be seen in patients undergoing chemotherapy or in hemolytic anemia, leukemia, and other disorders characterized by diminished clotting ability. )

Not sure what is going on, hematocrit is approaching dangerous level.
Usualy we see it due to Testosterone supplementation, but you do not supplement in T, so I am at loss, were you grossly dehydrated when drawing blood?

-----------------------------------
Noted
high pregnenolone=221(ng/dL(15-132)
=======================================
Albumin
Prolactin
FreeT3

No, I was not ill when I took the tests.

Nor was I grossly dehydrated, to my knowledge. I did fast the night before, and walked for about 20 minutes to get to the lab, so sweated some... then waited in the lab for another 20 minutes while they figured out how to test things... I suppose that could have played a role but looking at the overall change in values, a decrease in WBC, Neutrophils, Platelets etc, with an increase in RBC, Hematocrit and Hemoglobin tells me something is wrong...

One thing I do know is that I am really thirsty a lot and constantly having to piss, with a sense of urgency.

I have done some research into these values and have turned up:

High RBC = Polycythemia
High Pregenenolone = Congenital Adreneal hyperplasia
Low WBC, Neurtrophils etc = HIV, leukopenia

More info here: http://adam.about.com/reports/Complete-blood-count-series.htm (see page 3, 4)

I had a STD test 2 months prior to this one and was HIV negative. My concern is something going on in the bone marrow, possibly cancer, a type of anemia or leukemia or something else...

This is very scary. I will be going to see my doc next week to get a retest and ask for a referral to a Hematologist.

Good move, see Hematologist.
How is you ferritin.
Are you taking iron supplements?
Why have you tested for STD, have you got the correct tests, test some more.
Your thyroid is suspect, you had high TSH once, test thyroid and adrenals.

I don't know my Ferritin level but will have it tested when I get a re-test. Any others? Renin, Cancer tests etc?

Since Pregenolone was so high... and because Pregnenolone is the mother hormone that comes directly after Cholesterol... I will ask to be tested for Cholesterol/Blood Pressure/Triglycerides as well.

I tested STD since it had been a long time since I had one done and I have been with a few women since my last one, although I always use condoms so not concerned about it.

What specifically about the Thyroid and Adrenals should be tested? I already have ACTH and AM Cortisol, seemed within range. You suggest Free T3, Free T4, AM/PM Cortisol, ACTH?

Your TSH was once 4.54
that is why I am suggesting FreeT3 test.

Cancer tests----------------
I do not know, let the good doctor decide.

Make sure you cover at least this list of risk factors:
C-reactive protein CRP
Fibrinogen
Hematocrit
Hemoglobin A1C
Homocysteine, cardio
Lipoprotein (A) Lp(A)
