Help...patella tendinitis

Can anyone advise on how to treat what I think is tendinitis of the knees. They really hurt on the front of the kneecap and below when I squat... or do any leg exercises come to that.

There is some relief when I warm up but then when I cool down it's back with a vengence.

It's really pissing me off as I love to squat so any help would be very welcome.

Sounds like tendinitis......although it's a little unusual that you are experiencing it in both knees at the same time.

I would first try some over-the-counter motrin (take 2 = 400 mg) and make sure you ice the knees down after the workout to help keep the inflammation down.

If that combination doesn't work, you may want to get a prescription for 800 mg motrin (or something equivalent).

And, of course, my last choice, is you would have to rest the knees for a little bit until the inflammation subsides. Sometimes tendinitis can hang around for a while so be patient.

Have had tend. for several years. You may have to rest your knees for a
while. Try strengthening your hams, plenty of ice. Find you a knee sleeve
or tend. strap to go in front of knee. I take vicodein, not good, but it helps
me.

It may also be a problem with form. Are you pushing your knees in front of your toes when you squat? If so, stop it.

Yes I had been doing that and I have now corrected it, thanks.

PS. What is the correct procedure for applying ice?
