Hey everyone! I'm new here

Hey everyone!

I’m Yassen, 32 years old from Georgia. I recently got back into training and just started going to the gym again after focusing for years on long-distance running. I’ve always had a lean, athletic build.I'm 6 feet tall, weigh about 165 lbs, and sit under 10% body fat. My shoulders are naturally wide and muscles are hard, but now I’m focused on adding serious size.

One of my main goals is to grow my calves—they’re sitting at about 13.5 inches right now, and I’m aiming to bring them up by making sure my diet, sleep, and training (plus gear) are all dialed in. I’m currently just using creatine and MuscleTech multivitamins, but I’ve done a couple of small steroid cycles years ago (it’s been over 6 years since the last one).

I'm here to learn, stay accountable, and connect with others on the same path. Whether it's training tips, nutrition insights, or just supporting each other’s progress. I'm ready to be part of it.

Looking forward to the journey and helping out however I can!

Calves are mostly genetics man. You kind of either got them or your don't.

With that said, it sounds like yours are in proportion to your current build and suited for your current activity of running.

Change up the training, feed that 165 pound body, and who knows what your calves will do.

Hit them with heavy weight in straight legged exercises and full contraction.

This seems to be a common complaint with endurance athletes. Some speculate that type of excercise “desensitizes” the muscle toward growth. I don’t think there is much direct evidence either way but it kind of makes sense. Btw, I do suffer from the same issue of disproportionately small calves

Sounds like a good plan. I tired 10 sets * 20 reps every day for month , two years a go and i saw the difference gained half inch plus vascularity in them, but man they hurt a lot lol

Yeah man same thing here and I'm going to hit them hard like everyday with the help of gear and measure them every week and see

Read some different training threads on here. I know calf training has been mentioned multiple times. Some recommend heavy weight low rep sets to shock the muscle. Initially I made the mistake of only training them on leg days. Now I try to hit them twice a week. Just figured I’d throw some different ideas at you. Good luck
