hitting the bone with a needle

If you're so thin that you need to worry about hitting a bone while injecting steroids then you are too thin to be using steroids... EAT.. and Learn how to train before you start using gear... Steroids are intended to get you past your natural genetic potential, not to be used as a short cut...

I'm glad someone said it. I was going to say the exact same thing (more or less), but when I have in the past, I would get bros telling me to mind my own business. I guess when it comes from a respected source (Mod), people react differently.

But what you said is on the money, Phreezer. Too many kids want to take the easy way out and start using gear @16 or so. I'm 42, have been training on and off since I was 16, and have been using gear on and off for about 10 years. And when I train with guys in the gym who are in their 20's and even 30's and are jacked, I run circles around them because they never learned how to eat right or train HARD! Most of them think 3 sets of squats (2 of them being warmups) is hard work! They just can't understand how an "old man" like me can do 7 or 8 sets of squats and increase weight with each set, hitting 600+ lbs on the last couple sets, and I'm talking FULL squats. None of this 1/4 squat shit. But that's what "paying your dues" is all about. And these kids are doing like 275 or 300 and complaining that their knees are shot! That's because with all the juice they did at such a young age, their muscles gained strength much faster than their tondons and ligaments, and therefore their joints are fucked.

All I can say is knock yourselves out, kids. Let's see who is still in the gym in ten years.

Bump for that

I don't know why so many guys use 1 or 1.5 in needles, those things are just huge. But whatever floats your boat.

I like 25gauge 5/8 needles. Small, you hardly feel them, deep enough to get past any veins, not long enough to get anywhere near an artery.

For an IM injection you want to be deep in the muscle so you should use 1" or 1.5" needle. This reduces the pain. You don't have to worry about hitting arteries if now how to locate the injection spots.

All my injections are IM, and 5/8 goes in better, no pain (can't feel it at all, in fact), and I've never had a problem, so like I said, I don't get why some guys use such large needles. No need, unless you have to go through a lot of fat.

The longer and larger the needle, the more damage, the more scar tissue. There's just no need in my case, I have no fat to speak of.

I disagree, though I can't give you a source. I do remember once in an Issue of MD someone asked Dave Plumbo(sp?) if they should use an insulin syringe because they were starting to develop scar tissue. He answered that IM injections should be given deep in the muscle, and he said that using a shorter needle would lead to an even greater development of scar tissue than deep IM.

Plus if you go to a Dr and get an IM injection they will use a longer needle even if you have very little bf.

huh... well, dunno how reliable Plumbo is, I've heard several guys mention he's not a great source of info, but that's all I know about him. He could be golden for all I know.

Seems reasonable to me that a smaller needle going through less muscle would be ideal for low scar tissue. Like a knife through meat, you know.

But whatever, if guys are okay with it, cool, but me, I like no pain and the ease I've had compared to what other guys have described.
