homebrew oil

If I just buy some pure safflower oil at the store and boil or microwave it, will it be sterile enough to use in a homebrew? It will of course also be mixed with ba and filtered before I inject it.

yes, wont be a problem...however a microwave wont really get it hot enough. a microwave works by resonating water molecules within the food. The resonance generates heat, thus heating the food. oil is 99.99% fat, so it wont work as well you would be better off heating it in a clean pot and bringing it up to 325-350 deg for 10-20min, no bacteria can withstand that amount of heat (for comparison, pasteurization for milk is done at 161deg for 15-20 sec, UHT, or ultra high temp, for heavy cream or half & half is done at 250deg for 1/2 sec)

just do it cleanly though, because certain bacteria (bacillus, clostridium etc) produce spores when stressed, and these babies can practically withstand a nuclear bomb. one theyre in a viable condition for growth, they become a fully functioning bacterium. sterilize the pot/lid/ any utensils with isopropyl before heating, just let it fully dry before putting it on the stove or it will ignite.

you shouldnt really be worried too much though about spore producing bacteria like the above mentioned. bacillus species are common on rice and grains. clostridium is found the dirt...now if you plan on heating your oil in a wheat feild on a hot plate directly on the ground, then i would be concerned...
